201w ago - It is unknown whether a glitch is the culprit or not, but currently the Mirror's Edge Pure Time Trials DLC is available free on PSN.
Apparently it isn't just one map, but the entire pack.
To quote: Now whether this is a mistake or not we don't quite know yet, but if you head over to the UK PSN Store and search for the Mirror's Edge DLC entitled Pure, you'll notice that you can download this previously £7 pack for free.
The beautiful time trial levels are a must have for any Mirror's Edge owner.
208w ago - Have you played the 2D Mirror's Edge flash game?
If not you are missing one of the best platform games of recent memory. The animation is silky smooth, the level designs are perfectly tuned - you can sprint through them creating fluid runs or you can explore the city's verticality for the numerous hidden satchels.
We feel very strongly that this game is just begging for an iPort. The controls are as simple as left, right, up, down and jump. If SEGA can pull it off with a shonky Sonic port there is no reason why the controls shouldn't excel on the iPhone.
Graphically its right where it needs to be, bold and colourful with superb presentation. We can't think of any reason why this shouldn't get an App Store release, can you?
We sent a tweet to Craig "Law" Wien at EA Mobile, as follows: "Any chance of bringing THIS (MirrorsEdge2D.com) to the iPhone? Please?"
To which came the response: "Yah, you guys would be into that game on the iPhone?"
Only time will tell for sure, but here is to hoping it happens!
225w ago - Mirror's Edge Producer Tom Farrer reminds us today that the release of the free and exclusive PlayStation 3 Time Trial map hits PSN tomorrow, and shares some of his thoughts on it as follows:
When we started Mirror's Edge we were working with abstract environments, quick test levels that we threw together so we could mess around with the moves.
Then came the game and the more realistic urban settings which were a lot of fun to work with but there was always a little voice in the back of our minds saying, "Remember when you could build any bizarre shape you wanted?"
We have been making a variety of maps for the upcoming release of the Pure Time Trial Map Pack. We didn't want to be limited by an urban setting; we wanted to "leave the city behind" and focus completely on the nature of movement itself.
The maps are all about exploring the purity of the core gameplay with nothing getting in the way.
Each map is quite different in style and had different inspirations. The look of the Sony-exclusive map "Synethesia" (that will be released separately and for free tomorrow, January 29th) was actually inspired by balloons of all things. However, we did decide to settle on an overriding theme -- If Faith...
