Sony Rumored to Push for 16 Million PS4 Shipments in 2013

58w ago - Following up on the previous reports, today DigiTimes revealed that according to sources Sony is pushing for 16 million PlayStation 4 / PS4 shipments in 2013.

Below are the details, to quote: "Having high hopes on its PlayStation 4 (PS4) game console, Sony internally expects the machine's annual shipments to reach 16 million units in 2013 with the supply chain expected to start mass shipments in August, according to sources from PS4 component makers.

The sources pointed out that the PS4 will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Pegatron Technology, and the player have just begun the processes of request for quotation (RFQ) for the related components. Therefore, the component shipments are unlikely to start until August, but should allow the machine to show up before the year-end holidays in 2013.

Sony shipped a total of 150 million Playstation 2s and 100 million Playstations and has shipped 77 million Playstation 3s over the past seven years."

Sony Sues Graf Chokolo for 1 Million Euros, He's Still PS3 Hacking!

164w ago - Shortly following Sony's raid on his house, Dukio have now confirmed while posting a legal notice that Sony is suing Alexander Egorenkov known in the PS3 scene as Graf Chokolo for 1 million Euros and he states that he still wants to continue hacking the PlayStation 3 console with VGHQ.net reporting he has received over $28k in donations already!

To quote: I received a legal notice from SCEE lawyers requesting me to remove the coolstuff links that graf_chokolo has distributed on grafchokolo.com as well as the links at this blog. What i found interesting in the legal notice is that the lawyers are suing graf_chokolo for 1 million euros. That is quite a number, but graf_chokolo doesn't seem to care.

Sony: 1 Million PlayStation Move Units Shipped in North America

180w ago - Sony PlayStation 3 Marketing Manager Kim Nguyen has announced today that one million PlayStation Move units have shipped in North America and that there is a growing library of titles.

To quote: You might have heard that PlayStation Move has already shipped one million units and given the list of exciting games below, it's hard to imagine sales slowing down.

Next Tuesday marks the launch of gritty brawler, The Fight: Lights Out, party favorite SingStar Dance, and the HD revival of one of PlayStation's most iconic characters, Sly Cooper, in The Sly Collection.

Sony Announces Over 1 Million PlayStation Minis Served on PSN!

196w ago - Sony's PlayStation Network Sr. Director Susan Panico has announced today that over 1 million PlayStation Minis have been served on PSN for PSP, PSPgo and the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Today we're pleased to announce that our smallest downloadable games have passed a very big milestone: over 1 million minis have been downloaded worldwide.

The minis line launched 9 months ago as a quick-to-download, bite-sized experience perfect for on-the-go PlayStation Portable gaming. There are now over 85 titles available on the PlayStation Store, and most are now playable on the PlayStation 3 as well as PSP.

So which minis have been downloaded the most? Here are your top 10 most popular titles:
