Video: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP Field Guide Arrives

221w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has posted up a new Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP Field Guide trailer video today on the PlayStation Blog.

To quote: Since completing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots a whopping three times – once for each difficulty setting! – I've been positively fiending for a new Metal Gear fix.

Luckily, series mastermind [Register or Login to view links] has been busy cooking up a new chapter exclusively for the PSP, and this time, it's a story-centric adventure that picks up where Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater left off. And I got to play it!

Check out the new trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker below, and read on for more details and new screens.

That's right, the Bearded One himself – Naked Snake, aka Solid Snake's pops – returns to the lead role in Peace Walker. Set in 1974's Central America, in a war-weary time at the tail end of the Vietnam Conflict, Peace Walker will further explore the philosophical and political ramifications of war as commerce, as well as its longterm deleterious effects on society, the economy, and ourselves.

But don't worry. You'll still be able to blow stuff up real good, too.

Kojima Productions Hints at MGS: Peace Walker PSP Surprise

400°
231w ago - A recent [Register or Login to view links] on the Kojima Productions blog drops hints the company might be getting ready to reveal a long-awaited Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP surprise.

In the post, PR manager Jiro Oishi says the following after talking about touring Japan to show off the co-op play in Peace Walker, to quote:

"However, in truth, there's another ultimate charm outside of co-op play hidden in PW."

The original birth of this news came from an earlier [Register or Login to view links] by Hideo Kojima himself, so it is likely that Oishi and Kojima are both speaking about the same unannounced feature.

To date, there hasn't been any such announcement for the game that would make people rush out to buy a PSP, so only time will tell what surprise Peace Walker may hold for fans.

252w ago - Going to Japan for the Tokyo Game Show this month?

Then make sure you take your PSP with you - Konami will be giving away an exclusive Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo at the event.

To quote: "According to Konami's [Register or Login to view links], the Tokyo Game Show will be the venue to debut the demo - the only requirement being that you have a PSP with you and can stand to wait in what will surely be a mahoosive queue.

The game will of course be playable on the show floor, but that's no contest for being able to play it on the bus back to the hotel."
