59w ago - Vice President of Development for Creat Studios Scott Hyman has posted up a fresh video today of Germinator for the PlayStation 3 console with details below on the PlayStation Move title.
To quote: Hey gang - I'm back to announce a great new game that features a killer twist on the bubble genre. Something messy and contagious is festering in suburbia, and there's only one hero who can save the day: The Germinator!
No more of that old school Match-3. While three of a kind won't help you in Germinator, you will need to crash your germ bubbles into those of the same color.
Upon collision, they'll combine and grow, GROW, GROW until they POP - gooey, splotchy, splattering pops. Be sure to pop them quickly before they get too big and overrun the house. Timing and accuracy is the key to preventing the various germs from rising too high.
Germinator features a crazy cast of multi-colored bubble germs with their own personalities and traits. Making them pop the right way triggers combos to explode them all and make a mess of your screen. Dozens of levels and power-ups will keep you coming back to clean house. Local multiplayer lets you battle your friends or the AI.
101w ago - Despite some members being arrested a few months back, Internet hacking group Anonymous have now sent Sony a message in the form of a video (below) regarding the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) bill.
This comes just a week after reports of a SOPA-style court order for India's ISPs to block some of the world's largest file-sharing sites including BitTorrent, Megaupload and more.
Shortly following, GoDaddy announced their support for SOPA resulting in thousands of domain owners prompting to leave the registrar, including giant networks such as Wikipedia and Cheezeburger which consists of over 1000 domains alone.
To deal with the large volume of domain transfers, GoDaddy began blocking (and in some cases delaying)...
113w ago - Today Sony's SVP and PSN Chief Information Security Officer Philip Reitinger has issued an official warning that PlayStation Network security appears to once again be breached.
To quote: We want to let you know that we have detected attempts on Sony Entertainment Network, PlayStation Network and Sony Online Entertainment ("Networks") services to test a massive set of sign-in IDs and passwords against our network database.
These attempts appear to include a large amount of data obtained from one or more compromised lists from other companies, sites or other sources.
In this case, given that the data tested against our network consisted of sign-in ID-password pairs, and that the overwhelming majority of the pairs resulted in failed matching attempts, it is likely the data came from another source and not from our Networks. We have taken steps to mitigate the activity.
Less than one tenth of one percent (0.1%) of our PSN, SEN and SOE audience may have been affected. There were approximately 93,000 accounts globally (PSN/SEN: approximately 60,000 accounts; SOE: approximately 33,000) where the attempts succeeded in verifying those accounts' valid sign-in IDs and passwords, and we have temporarily locked these accounts.
