A few weeks ago, we scolded the video game industry for its abusive treatment of cinematic masterpieces. How, we wondered, could game makers turn such fantastic films into such digital disasters?

Then it dawned on us: maybe they were choosing the wrong movies! Just because a flick is brilliantly written or superbly acted doesn't mean it has any business being turned into a video game. Other films, however, are screaming for the game conversion, and we're here to lend our voice to the chorus. Game developers, get cracking on:

Children of Men

One moment you're walking down the sidewalk minding your own business, the next, a bomb has exploded, your ears are ringing and a fascist police battalion is trying to turn you into a skid mark. Such sudden bursts of incidental action turned Alfonso Cuaron's riveting sci-fi film into something of a survival horror masterpiece, and we're simply flabbergasted that it's yet to be turned into a game (though Valve's... Just a reminder, if anyone sees interesting news we miss feel free to share it with the community via Submit News. That being said, I sold my PS2/PSTwo when the PSP came out, and as a result don't follow much news pertaining to them.

Just this morning a friend let me know the Memento Firmware for the Memor32 PS2 Memory Card being peddled was hacked by TikTok n' Botch... since last year (no, not FreeVast)- news to me, and a few others I asked as well!

Memento (Max Louarn et al) has just released a new update for it's Firmware 1.1, now with Australian support.

SupremeFactory, the manufacture/distribution center of Divineo recently raided by Nintendo, has issued a "press release" today (available at the link above, or below).

Max Louarn et al. claims Nintendo has violated an agreement in their previously-released Press Release not to divulge any details of the raid "except for the purposes of the proceeding" by issuing their own press release.

Unfortunately, this action could also be labeled a violation of the court's order. Louarn, the head of the empire, was also sued by Sony for $9M in 2006 and charged with Calling-Card Fraud as far back as 1994- needless to say, I woul... More »

Memento (Max Louarn et al.) have released a new build of their Firmware for use with the Memor 32 Memory Card for PS2/PSTwo.

Main Features added to this release:

- Fixed stupid last-minute bug which caused failed boot on some games. All games that were reported as not-working are now booting correctly.

- Added DVD-DL suport for some games (like Champions of Norahh, Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix). This is still to be considered a beta feature and will be fixed completely in the next firmware release.

- Fixed DEV1/Dev3 on some PS2 versions (some models had issues, everything should be fixed now).

- Fixed Browser boot on some PS2 models, now disk will boot from browser on all PS2 Models.

Memento (Max Louarn et al) have updated to Memor 32 Firmware v1.1 today for the PS2. The new v1.1 build now adds Dev1 and Dev 3 mode which allows for the launching of up to four different applications from the memory card/USB hdd and memory stick.

To quote: We have added the first important feature to the Memento Firmware! Dev1 and DEV 3 full implementation.

It is now possible to launch up to four different .ELF applications from DEV1 (Memor32 memory card) and four different .ELF applications from DEV3 (USB Flash memory stick).

DEV2 (HDD boot of .ELF Files) will be implemented with next Firmware update, toghether with the HDD Support.
