Capcom Announces Mega Man X5 is Out Now on PlayStation Store

7w ago - Capcom's Brett Elston announced today that Mega Man X5 is out now on PlayStation Store with details below.

To quote: Last week we finally brought Mega Man X4 to PlayStation Store.

This beloved entry in the X series can be found on both PS3 and Vita online shops, enabling fans to rediscover - or perhaps play for the first time - one of the greatest action games of the PSone era. But we have even more good news - Mega Man X5 is also available today!

Both classic titles are $5.99 and represent some of 2D gaming's finest work. If you missed these back in the day, it's a great time to jump in and find out why so many fans continue to hold both titles in such high regard. And with both available on Vita, you can play them anywhere!

If you're in the mood for even more classic Mega Man goodness, check out Mega Man 1~4 in the PS imports section - they're also playable on PS3 or PS Vita!
 

Video: Pac-Man and Mega Man Join Street Fighter X Tekken

144w ago - Today Capcom Group Brand Manager Grant Luke has announced alongside a video trailer that Pac-Man and Mega Man are joining Street Fighter X Tekken's PlayStation exclusives.

To quote: Street Fighter X Tekken's roster is already bursting with fan favorites from both sides, and today we can add two more iconic characters to the list - and in this case, they're exclusive to PS3 and PS Vita players...

Two iconic mascots, Pac-Man and Mega Man, join the fray with existing PlayStation exclusives Cole, Kuro and Toro.

However, both mascots arrive in altered forms to create battles unique to Street Fighter X Tekken; Pac-Man rides Tekken's Mokujin, while Mega Man references the "classic" bad box art from the original US Mega Man.





Street Fighter X Tekken for the PS3 launches March 6, with the PS Vita to follow!

214w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared some video footage today from Tokyo Game Show 2010 spotlighting Mega Man Universe on PSN.

To quote: Tucked deep inside Capcom's Tokyo Game Show hotel suite was the first hands-on build of Mega Man Universe, the upcoming PSN title that gives players a comprehensive toolset to build their own custom Mega Man levels and characters. Watch the new trailer below for a peek at the total package.

DualShock 3 clenched tightly in my sweaty hands, I powered through several of Mega Man Universe's pre-generated levels, which are based on the fan-favorite Mega Man 2.

I quickly discovered that some things never change: Mega Man Universe is freaking hard, even on the allegedly Easy mode. The levels were riddled with tricky moving platforms, brutal jumps, lethal spike pits, and the requisite homing-carrot-firing rabbit robots.





Of course, the difficulty level can vary wildly depending on the prowess of your custom Mega Man, which you upgrade by cobbling together spare parts from defeated bosses and iconic Capcom characters – Street Fighter's Ryu and Ghosts 'N Goblins Arthur were [Register or Login to view links]...
 

Mega Man 3 Joins PSOne Classics for PS3 and PSP on PSN in April

242w ago - Today Siliconera.com (linked above) has revealed that Mega Man 3 is joining the PSOne Classics for PS3 and PSP on PSN in April, 2010.

Fans of the series will be pleased to know Mega Man 3 will be hitting Japan's PlayStation Store sometime next month!

This version will include re-done menus, tips from Protoman while playing, a 'hard' mode and an assortment of various illustrations.

To quote: "Features in this edition of Mega Man 3 include a revamped menus, in-game tips from Protoman, hard mode, a boss rush, and a collection of illustrations.

You can get Mega Man 3 from Japan's PlayStation Store sometime in April or, if you're really lucky, win it by purchasing Mega Man 10.

Fifty people that buy Mega Man 10 from PSN between March 9 and 23 will win a digital download of Mega Man 3. Unfortunately, this promotion is only for Japan, or perhaps those with Japan region PSN accounts."

How is it possible? Internet magic of course! Think Paper Mario+Mega Man, and be prepared to be amazed!
