27w ago - Danger Close Studios Level Designer Marc Janas has announced today that Medal of Honor Warfighter is getting new Zero Dark Thirty maps with pack details below alongside a video, as follows:
Zero Dark Thirty is a Sony film that chronicles one of the greatest and most secretive manhunts in history: the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
In our partnership with Zero Dark Thirty and Sony we're bringing you two Medal of Honor Warfighter multiplayer maps based on the areas in Pakistan where Bin Laden was hunted.
You've probably already heard about Chitral and Darra in the Single Player missions as you were looking for the Cleric in Chitral and chasing targets through the back alleys of Darra.
Now we're opening up these areas and providing more opportunity to explore them in a multiplayer setting. When deciding on these locales we really wanted to find areas that were both visually interesting, and fit within the fiction of the Medal of Honor Warfighter Universe.
The Darra Gun Market map contains a scenic river crossing with high intensity combat over the ravine, the gunsmith pit which is right along the docks, and the abandoned estate that provides an overwatch for the entire middle section of the map.
138w ago - Electronic Arts Community Coordinator Eduardo Vasconcellos has announced today that Medal of Honor for PS3 is getting what's being dubbed Hot Zone.
To quote: It's been a few weeks since Medal of Honor launched, and thanks to our fantastic PlayStation fans, things have been a great success.
Now that you've had time to get used to the game's multiplayer offering on the PlayStation Network, I think it's time we let you in on a little secret: there's more. While you may already know that Clean Sweep is coming on November 2 (free for everyone who activated their Medal of Honor Online Pass), what we didn't tell you is that a whole new mode dubbed Hot Zone is coming to the PSN on the same day.
Coming to the PlayStation Network for $9.99, Hot Zone is a king of the hill-type mode where two teams tussle over a single objective within a map. As long as you hold the Hot Zone, you gain points which go to your final score.
Unlike other game modes, maintaining control on the Hot Zone is the only way to earn points, so while laying down suppressing fire and taking out enemies coming your way is certainly a good thing, these kills won't earn you any extra points.
The pacing and overall feel of the new mode is different as all players will be surrounding a single...
139w ago - Previously it was reported that Medal Of Honor PS3 required Firmware 3.42 to run, but below is a video and guide on getting the video game working on PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 with Open Manager version 2.1 posted at PS3SOS.com (linked above) and Elotrolado.net.
Other PS3 titles that previously required PS3 Firmware 3.42 are also being reported as now working using the same method (at least until Sony changes the NPDRM EBOOT keys) as well, including John Daly's Prostroke Golf and Castlevania...
140w ago - Yesterday we reported on the US release of Medal of Honor for PS3, and today EA Community Manager Matthew Pruitt has shared a video trailer while confirming that it hits European shores on October 15, 2010.
To quote: It is finally time to take that step; a step so critical that it will elevate you to a new level of gamer. It's time to step up to Tier 1!
Medal of Honor for the PlayStation 3 is now on retail store shelves in the US and will be making its debut in Europe on the 15th of October.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Medal of Honor, it's a modern reboot of the venerable franchise that has existed for ten years. Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators.
Over two million Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low...
