172w ago - Zipper Interactive's Jeremy Dunham has revealed that the new MAG PS3 Beta launches today on PlayStation Store.
To quote: All you have to do to participate is download it when it becomes available, put your MAG disc into the PlayStation 3, and start the beta client from the "Game" section of the XMB.
Please Note: You MUST have a MAG retail disc in your PlayStation 3 in order for the MAG Beta client to work
Once you've logged on to the server and your pre-existing MAG character has been copied to its universe (don't worry, the copy-over won't affect your main character), you can then access our beta server in two separate sessions per weekday – with each session lasting four hours apiece every Monday through Friday. Listed below are the session times for multiple time zones.
173w ago - Today Zipper Interactive's Jeremy Dunham has announced that MAG will soon be compatible with PlayStation Move, and he shared details on a new PS3 Beta program as follows:
If you're a fan of our massive 256-player first-person shooter, MAG, then today's news should be of great interest to you.
Truth be told, we have so many tremendous revisions coming to our "ever-changing global war" that it's almost impossible to tell you about everything we have planned in a single article... but we have to begin somewhere, and we're starting with PlayStation Move!
That's right, later this Autumn MAG will offer full compatibility with the PlayStation Move!
This added support means that users have another way to experience the most ambitious first-person shooter out there. Pinpoint accuracy and easy access to all of the game's mechanics ensure that players of any type – be they hardened veterans or new recruits – can enjoy a shooting experience unlike any other.
But PlayStation Move support isn't all we're working on. Because our upcoming content is so important to the game and its future, we want your assistance to make sure we get it right! With that notion in mind we're pleased to announce that, one week from today on August 24, we're inviting...
207w ago - Update: Per Blog.MAG.com, you'll be able to download the client in North America starting tomorrow, December 22!
Additionally, PS3 owners in Asia can start downloading the file on December 25, while the European store will make it available on January 4.
Today Sr. Zipper Interactive Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has announced that MAG for PlayStation 3 has gone gold, and that the PS3 Beta will be open for everyone soon.
To quote: On behalf of everyone at Zipper Interactive, I'm proud to announce that following our successful series of beta programs this past fall, our 256-player first-person shooting spectacular, MAG, has gone gold in North America, Japan, Korea, and the rest of Asia.
It is now headed off to manufacturing so that the game can make it from store shelves to PlayStation 3s all over the world. Expect MAG to drop on January 26 in North America and Asia, January 28 in Japan, and January 29 in Korea.
The European discs are finishing up final quality assurance rounds right now and we expect to see those editions go gold sometime in the next few weeks.
We realize that the wait is still more than a month...
If you haven't been paying attention, or were maybe only in an earlier version of the Beta, you might wanna know what's been going on with the game. That's why Zipper Interactive's Lead Designer CJ Heine dropped on by (via PlayStation Eye) to tell us about it.
So which sites are giving out entry codes for this extended Beta? Well, we are for one. As per usual, fan our Facebook page and/or follow our Twitter and we'll start giving them out later today.
But we're hardly the only option. Remember that Official MAG Blog? Head on over there to find out who else can hook you up.
228w ago - Update: Courtesy of caliblue15 comes more 'proof' screens on BluerayCenter.com, who is also reporting that apparently it can only be played at certain times (ala Fat Princess).
Today various Web sites, including TheGamerAccess.com (linked above), are reporting that the MAG (Massive Action Game) BETA for PlayStation 3 has begun.
To quote: "I just signed onto the PlayStation Network planning to hop onto Killzone 2, when I noticed something very interesting while viewing my friends list. One of the users on my friends list was playing the MAG Beta.
I will not release any information as to who this person is, but I will tell you that he/she is an employee for Sony. Because he/she works for Sony, this version of the Beta could be available only to a select few industry employees, but this could also mean that the MAG Beta is right around the corner."
That being said, if anyone else can confirm the news feel free to comment below!
