50°
58w ago - Sony Associate Producer Michael Pulst shared a video today proclaiming that Tearaway and PlayStation Vita are a match made in heaven.

To quote: Hello again! We do hope you've been enjoying our Behind the Scenes Tearaway mini-series. For the fourth video in our little collection, we wanted to show you why this papery platforming adventure really couldn't have been made for any other device or console.

On your quest to help iota or atoi deliver their very special message to you, you'll solve perplexing puzzles with the tilt; defeat your enemies with the front touch pad; capture and customize your journey together with the front and rear cameras and microphone; and, best of all, reach into the game with the rear touch pad. It truly is a "hands-in" experience (sorry).

Don't forget there's still over a week to [Register or Login to view links] Tearaway and also secure our Special Delivery pre-order bonus items. Week one orders at the PS Store will also include the bonus items so those who prefer the digital version will not miss out!

This bundle includes the audiolicious Tearaway soundtrack, exclusive skin for the in-game rideable pig that includes...

FuturLab: Velocity Getting Remade for PS Vita as Velocity Ultra

50°
102w ago - FuturLab Managing Director James Marsden has confirmed today that Velocity is getting remade for PS Vita as Velocity Ultra with details below.

To quote: Hello again! It feels great to be back - especially now that we're able to reveal a project that so many people have asked for: a native PS Vita version of our multiple award-winning PS minis game Velocity!

It's called Velocity Ultra, and it features Trophies, online high scores and a completely overhauled visual style at native PS Vita resolution. We're reworking all the art in the game, so the cut scene stills have been recreated at a much higher standard than before.

We're also unifying the art style throughout the game by ditching pixel art in favor of the edgy cartoon style.

The dinky (and rather pathetic) Quarp Jet now looks less dinky (and rather bad-ass)

We're also adding lots of visual effects. Here's what Velocity Ultra looks like at the moment. Note that the graphics look considerably cleaner when running live on PS Vita's screen.

The dark shading at each side of the screen focuses the action whilst explosions illuminate the environment to create a more dramatic experience. The PS Vita is a lot more powerful than the PSP, so we're able to add these lighting effects whilst still running...

Project: Attempts Being Made to Re-Enable OtherOS on PS3

850°
223w ago - Update: A video is now available below of a PS JailBreak OtherOS Installer from Sh1m3oN (proof of concept enabling features in the PS3 XMB) with some details on how to do it from Reaver at TeknoGods.

Recently C4PT started a [Register or Login to view links] in attempt to re-enable OtherOS on JailBroken PS3 consoles, as you have the option to run your own selfs on them.

To quote: "C4PT has successfully gotten the OtherOS installer to run due to this fact. He accomplished this by putting the otheros.self into a backup game's USRDIR folder, renamed it to EBOOT.BIN, and running it.

You can also run it via AerialX's payload off a usb stick, however this hasn't been tested yet.

You will need the otheros.bld on a usb stick in the directory PS3/OTHEROS/otheros.bld, as otheros.self will try to load this file. This whole process completes successfully, but unfortunately that's where the good news ends.

This will need a lot more hacking to accomplish re-enabling OtherOS, as the otheros menu is still hidden from view on the XMB. This will require some sort of flash hacking to accomplish. The easy part has been done, now the...
