Today, adding more credence that a third game is in development comes a listing in Ben Mauro's LinkedIn Profile which confirms his involvement with Resistance 3 among other projects.

Today goldsoundz from NeoGAF (linked above) spotted a Resistance 3 PS3 billboard ad in Louisiana.
The billboard may be made specifically for Battle: Los Angeles, an upcoming movie from Sony’s Columbia Pictures.
The unannounced title, presumably to be released in fall of 2010 on the PS3, would be the third game in the series, following Resistance: Fall of Man and...

A footnote in the video game violence debate has been sentenced to die by an Oklahoma jury.
As reported by the Associated Press, jurors deliberated for eight hours before passing a death sentence on Kevin Underwood, 28. The same jury had earlier found Underwood guilty of first-degree murder in the horrific 2006 killing of 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin.
