SCEE has confirmed that LocoRoco 2 will be shipping across Europe this November.
The sequel to 2006's PSP hit "uses both music and colour as part of the gameplay" reads the press release.
The story begins when the happy and harmonious LocoRoco are attacked by the evil Moja army – who want to destroy their beautiful planet with their evil music.
Easy to pick up, players use the simple buttons of the PSP to tilt the LocoRoco's planet back and forth, manoeuvring the jelly-like bubbles of fun to collect musical notes and other colourful items.
As LocoRoco collect more musical notes, various bonus features will unlock, such as viewing maps. SCEE hasn’t given a firm date in November, but rest assured it’ll be here next month.
A funny thing happened a couple of months ago. After completing the PSP version of God of War, developer Ready At Dawn Studios posted a matter-of-fact news story on their site about how they were packing up their dev kits and sending them back to Sony.
The company behind one of the must-play games on the PSP was giving up on the system completely. Around the same time, Sony itself announced a new partnership program where universities could buy up PSP and PS2 development kits on the cheap. It would seem that Ready At Dawn isn’t the only studio giving up on the system.
Presumably, there is an assembly line at Sony headquarters where the old dev kits are repackaged for uni students. Maybe they throw in some typical student freebie favourites in the box, like free condoms, and booklets about doing drugs responsibly.
At any rate, this phase-out is already being felt at retail. There are fewer and fewe... More »

The road to modern videogames is littered with the corpses of noble game consoles who flew too high to the sun.
Here are the 10 best under-achievers of all-time:
Commodore 64:
Forget a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, or Wii - the Commodore 64 was literally the first living-room computer. At one point, the TV-enabled desktop held 40% share of the PC market, more than IBM and Apple. But it also doubled as a nifty game console, so much in fact that its library and third-party support rivaled that of the NES at one time, this despite being released three years earlier. Good times!
Must-play games: Boulderdash, Defender of the Crown, Impossible Mission, Hardball, Ghosts & Goblins, Commando, Spy Hunter, Mrs. Pacman, Donkey Kong
Sega Saturn:
Though the short-lived Saturn would mark the beginning of Sega's hardware downfall, it was the system of choice for arcade junkies hoping to play Sega's stellar first-party efforts at... More »
Sony Computer Entertainment Asia is bringing in the year of the Rat with a sale on a bunch of downloadable PlayStation Network games.
From now until February 14, the following games will only cost HK$39 ($5 USD):
>>>LocoRoco! Buu Buu Cocoreccho
>>>Super Rub a Dub
>>>Super Stardust HD
>>>Bacterius
>>>Go Sports! Ski
>>>Piyotama
Not all of these are great deals compared to the US PlayStation Store. Piyotama and Go Sports! Ski actually cost more, but the excellent Super Stardust HD is being sold at half price if you bother to set up a Hong Kong PSN account and add money to it. Perhaps, a better deal is Sony’s catalog of downloadble PSP RPGs will be sold at half price. That means you can snag the unreleased Tenchi no Mon 2, Blade Dancer, and Rezel Cross for around a cool eight US dollars. The downside is the games are in Chinese, which probably means few people are going to take advantage of the promotion.
