Konami announced today that the Meme expansion should be available for download next week. November 25th to be exact, which places the release on a Tuesday. I would have expected it on a Thursday, but I suppose most be too busy with the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Meme expansion of course adds three new maps to Metal Gear Online, along with two new characters; Revolver Ocelot and the lovely Mei Ling, who has the means to transfix enemies by strutting her stuff.

Per Alan McDermott (Audio Lead, Evolution Studios) via PS Blog today:
Since Day 1, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to put a soundtrack together that would have the right vibe for a festival of racing like MotorStorm. You see, Music is one of those things that no one is ever “wrong” about. Everyone has an opinion, and everyone knows best, but no one is ever wrong!
After countless discussions with various people involved in creating the Festival Infrastructure around the MotorStorm racing events, my challenge was set: I needed to put together a lineup that not only fit with a racing game, but one which could feasibly be the Festival line up to end all Festival line ups.
It had to be Anarchic, Aggressive and Raucous. That was the easy part. The tough part was making sure that the soundtrack became as much a signature of MotorStorm as the racing itself was.
Still playing Metal Gear Online? If you are, you've probably played the original game and the first expansion "Gene" to death already. It might just be about time for a new expansion; Konami seems to agree.
According to these new magazine scans courtesy of omaru from GameTrailers, MGO's second expansion dubbed "Meme" will feature both Liquid Ocelot and Mei Ling as new prized characters.
Then there are a handful of new maps: Silo Sunset, Forest Firefight and Winter Warehouse. It shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what those maps will look like judging by their respective titles. Silo Sunset, however, seems to be set in an area with ruined buildings and not actually inside a massive silo.
A price and date has not been specified, though we can't imagine that a price would be any different from the previous Gene expansion. It looks like the earliest anyone would be getting... More »
CustomPC writes: We recently had the chance to test Intel's latest overclocking-friendly CPU, the Core 2 Duo E8600, at Amari's labs near Watford.
Not content with merely wowing us with their Dream PCs 2008 entry - the fantastic submersion-cooled XCP - Amari provided the facilities to overclock the E8600 with liquid nitrogen.
Custom PC was aided by two of the UK's best-known overclockers from BenchTec, Sacha35 (Paul Watkinson) and Bazx (Barry Wynd), where we cooled the chip to a chilly -120°C and achieved some truly impressive clock speeds and benchmark results.
Those of you who frequent the rumor mill will remember reports earlier in the year that PC hardware specialists Acer were going to release a console to compete with the likes of the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Of course it all turned out to be a load of horse shit, but even this outlandish rumour had an element of truth to it. Acer were working on a game specific machine, although it is actually a highly specialized PC and God damn it’s a sexy looking thing!
In Sydney this week, we were given a chance to rub its sunset orange Lamborghini-inspired exterior, poke about in its innards and give Call of Duty 4 a hammering and we have to say, it was hard not to be impressed.
Aimed specifically at the extreme gamer category, three tiers of the Acer Aspire Predator are in stores right now, ranging from around $4,000 - $8,000, depending on just how big you want your e-peen to be. This is the top end of the spectrum, pushing the latest and greatest tech – from 4... More »
Tyler Bates, a music producer and composer for films, has composed a music score for Codemasters and Liquid Entertainment’s upcoming gladiatorial action-RPG called 'Rise of the Argonauts'.
This is the first score composed for a game by Bates but he has worked on numerous Hollywood films including ‘Doomsday’, ‘Dawn of the Dead’ and ‘300′.
To quote: “The mythical nature of Rise of the Argonauts encouraged me to go beyond TV and movies and compose the score for my first video game.
Rise of the Argonauts is an epic game with some of the biggest Greek heroes like Jason, Hercules and Achilles, which inspired me to compose dramatic, sweeping music to create the proper setting for this exciting adventure.” said Bates.
Nilay Patel writes: So we hate to break it to the good guys at Tom's Hardware, but while we're impressed that they managed to overclock a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 to 5.1GHz using a cryogenic cooling system, it's not nearly close to the world record they're claiming.
We've seen P4's at up to 8.18GHz, and just a couple months ago someone jacked a Core 2 Extreme QX9775 on a Skulltrail board to 6GHz. Still, it's always fun to watch people pour liquid nitrogen over a mobo - video below.
Fair warning right now, there will be general Metal Gear game spoilers in this article. If you have not finished Metal Gear Solid 4 at very least, go do so and then come back and read. The other games in the series may also have spoilers, but odds are you had that ruined or you played with the database too much already. Ok you’ve been warned.
I recently completed Metal Gear Solid 4 and what a ride it was. Great game start to finish, however there are some things I would have liked to have seen added. Calm down fanboys, I’m not knocking the game in ANY way, here are just my suggestions to give us a little more time in the Metal Gear World. Before I continue, I’ll say it again, there are going to be some spoilers in here! Read on at your own risk!
Add #1: Playable Raiden I know it’s a little crazy, but why not let us do some Raiden chapters to see what he’s been up to before he jumps in to hack and slash some Gekko up? The Metal Gear Serie... More »
