Fun Box is Open!      Poll What Do You Want for Christmas?      Buy, Sell, & Trade Forum Open!
A few weeks ago, I made my way to Ubisoft's Montreal studio to interview a pair of team members working on the latest Prince of Persia, and it turned out to be one of those interviews where we kept talking longer than we probably should have.

Below is an excerpt from that interview as follows:

1UP: Were you guys disappointed when those first couple of screenshots leaked out and everyone assumed it was going to be a two-player game?

BM: [Laughs] Disappointed? No, it was to be expected, really. I think if you see two characters on the screen, some people are going to assume one of their friends can control one of those two characters. So it didn't really disappoint me to see people saying, "Oh, oh, I think this is going to be a co-op game."

But we really haven't had much negative backlash about the fact that it's single-player. I've been reading the forums, I get e-mails, I get Facebook messages and that sort of stuff, and no one ever... More »

According to Big_T of NeoGAF Forums (linked above) he has gotten his hands on the hotly anticipated new IP from EA and has posted some pics.

To quote: "Just got the game, I don't care about the length of the game. I played the demo 4 hours :)

btw the installation for the game is 486MB.. when you start new game you choose between easy and normal difficulty, if you complete the story you will unlock the hard difficulty, in hard there is no Runner Vision and combat much tougher."

As mentioned yesterday, Mirror's Edge is set to officially arrive for PlayStation 3 on November 11 and XBox 360 on November 14, 2008 so it appears some retailers are selling it a day early.

One pic of the pack and PS3 disc is below, with the rest at the above link. Enjoy!

Construction Number 6801 of Windows 7 that was handed out to developers at this year's PDC (Professional Developers Conference) have appeared on various file-sharing network in the weekend. We're talking about both 32 and 64-bit editions.

Built in 6801 are many of the major improvements that are now being praised on the Web, but it lacks the new taskbar that's changed in relation to all other Windows versions.

It is the well-known Windows Network WinBeta that has made Windows 7 available for curious pirates. The file size is 3.6GB packed.

A video of Windows 7 Edition that Microsoft demonstrated at PDC is below, but note this is not the edition that was leaked:

In January a very early version of Windows 7 was leaked to the Web. However, back then there was no one particularly impressed when many of the big changes were not yet implemented.

Apparently someone leaked the install files for the NXE on the internet and it is now available for all to try out. Now just to let you all know, YOU CAN NOT CONNECT ONLINE WITH IT TILL NOVEMBER 19th, it will not allow you, so if you plan to game, do not use this.

Also there is no guarantee that Microsoft will not ban your console or get angry at you, so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Now to install this, it is really simple, all you have to do is download the update files, you can get them HERE at digiex.net. After you have the file, you just put it on the root of a USB drive, slap that bad boy into your Xbox 360 and turn it on. From there you will be asked if you want to update and now your off and running. Again, use at your own risk.

According to Gamestop and a leaked Circuit City flier, the rumored 60GB HDD Live starter pack is really real and will be releasing next week.

The 60GB HDD Live pack includes a 60GB hard drive, a 3 month subscription to Xbox Live, a wired headset and ethernet cable all for $99.

Quite the steep price, but it works in terms of the console pricing between an Xbox 360 Arcade and Xbox 360 Pro.

But we're not justifying the price, and 100% agree that it's still way expensive.

Andy Kelly recently reviewed the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 for PSM3. The review has been leaked onto the Web and there has been concern as Andy's review stated that the graphics in the PS3 version compare poorly to its XBox and PC counterparts.

To quote: Our exclusive Fallout 3 PS3 review (from PSM3#107) has leaked onto the Internet and, as expected, a single sentence has been dragged out, beaten and interrogated under a spotlight.

This one; "The PS3 version compares poorly to its Xbox and PC counterparts." Which, in the parlance of the Internet, obviously means; "THE PS3 VERSION SUCKS! XBOX WINS! ANOTHER CRAPPY PORT!" But that isn't the case. The PS3 version just looks SLIGHTLY WORSE than the other versions.

The PC version of Fallout 3 is gorgeous. The colours are vivid, the draw distance is endless, the textures are high-res and the lighting effects are beautifully subtle, especially when you're gazing over the Capital Wastelan... More »

Release group SYNDiCATE has made available Nintendo Wii Backup Disc v1.31 today. According to the included NFO file: "This is the originally correctly signed version of Nintendo's Backup disc, which was left in a console after repairs." Unpacked, the image's size weighs in at 600 MB (629,145,600 bytes) and the release name is Wii_Backup_Disc_v1.31_USA_READNFO_WII-SYNDiCATE.

Download: Wii Backup Disc v1.31 / Wii Backup Disc v1.31 [Mirror] / Wii Backup Disc v1.31 [Mirror]

To quote from WiiBrew (linked above): The "Wii Backup Disc" is a service disc apparently used inside Official Nintendo Repair shops to transfer personal data like savegames and console settings between Wiis as part of a repair.

It's not entirely clear what it does; something it does *not* do -- even though it appears it mi... More »

A picture (below) was released on the Internet yesterday of a retail copy of Far Cry 2. Many were skeptical on the legitimacy of the picture, but not too long afterwards more reports starting coming in that many Gamestop store managers have received copies of the game.

Whether this is an actual broken release, date or just a manager being a bit cocky is still unclear. It wouldn’t be a bad idea though to check your local retail stores tomorrow to see if you can sneak a copy out.

If that’s not enough now we have yet ANOTHER batch of reports indicating that Far Cry 2 has been leaked onto the Internet. Which console you may ask? Well the 360 of course!

The Xbox 360 has really been taking in a lot of early releases of games via torrents, and its quite ironic how these torrents are directed towards the 360 rather than the PC platform many developers consider to be a pirate jungle.

At least this leak isn’t as bad as Fallout 3 where ... More »
