Earlier this week, Famitsu Weekly confirmed that a demo of Capcom's highly anticipated Resident Evil 5 would be coming to the Japanese XBox Live Marketplace on December 5.

Confusion arose as to whether the demo would be limited to Japan and only the XBox Live Marketplace.

Capcom, however, has confirmed that the demo will be appearing on both the PSN and XBox Live Marketplace, and in all major regions as well.

The demo, however, will not be launching simultaneously worldwide, and as of right now, there is no word on the western release date.

Per Microsoft's Major Nelson (linked above): Xbox.com and the Xbox forums will be offline for maintenance on Tuesday, November 18th from 12:01am PT until 4:00am PT to prepare for the New Xbox Experience launch on Wednesday the 19th.

This does NOT affect Xbox LIVE, which will remain available during this time.

Additionally, similar as was done for the PlayStation 3 recently, Microsoft will give Capcom its own “branded destination experience” tomorrow, to coincide with the launch of New Xbox Experience.

The hub will serve as a sort of one-stop shop for all things Street Fighter. Related add-ons and content, as well information on upcoming releases, will be accessible from one single destination.

Believe it or not, whether you are a PlayStation gamer or not, you’re going to be disappointed that Sony really doesn’t have anything up their sleeve in terms of marketing their products... their odd ads are just plain out boring.

What’s even worse is that they are releasing one TV Spot with the same theme every few days till the 21st when they are launching a “bigger campaign”. I don’t know about you guys, but the TV spots so far are not inspiring me yet.

The first one is known as the “Alley” and the second one known as “Office Park”, and are part of the reflection campaign. Hopefully this “bigger campaign” will be more persuasive to the average consumer this holiday season.

Show us your killer titles, like Resistance 2, and LittleBigPlanet that you have been so excited for this year!

Gaming, like all mediums in existence, is constantly evolving. The Internet is almost unrecognizable from just 10 years ago.

Television programming has changed greatly, including such technologies as TiVo (DVR) and the unfortunate rise of reality shows on nearly every channel except Nickelodeon.

May God help us all. In the meantime, there are some trends we have noticed appearing in a lot of our favorite videogames, and those trends show a bright future for our favorite hobby. Some may disagree that these are good things, but they are indeed a part of gaming these days for better or worse.

5. Instant Co-Operative Play

Back in the day, co-op modes would typically split the screen in two in order to allow one player to move independently of the other.
