209w ago - Those who balked over the MAG PS3 Beta size may want to take a time out and breathe before you consider downloading Record of Agarest from Sony's PlayStation Network.
Siliconera.com is reporting that according to Aksys employee Belisarius it is estimated to weigh in at around 8 to 10 gigs in size.
Obviously, eight to ten gigabytes isn't going to be a space issue for most people's PS3 hard drive, however, the time it'll take to download via PSN is another story.
To quote: "All right guys, I figured you might like to hear a reasonably official word on this, so here it is:
I asked around, and it looks like the final size is going to be somewhere around 8-10 gigs. It sounds like a lot, I know, but I've been downloading the debug ROMs at home to take the load off our office internet, and they only take a few hours--I usually start them when I leave for work, and they're done by lunch. My internet connection is nothing special either--about 500 kb/s on a good day.
254w ago - Earlier last month, Take-Two, publishers of Bioshock and Grand Theft Auto, announced that the PS3 had been their biggest source of income, with 35% of their revenue coming from the platform.
It seems this may becoming trend, as UbiSoft is reporting a similar story. So far for the fiscal year of 2008, 21% of the publisher's sales have come from the PS3.
Of the three home consoles, that is the largest percent, with Microsoft's XBox 360 trailing at 20% and the Wii at 15%. This is quite a mix up from the 2007 fiscal year, where the 360 actually had the highest amount of sales out of all platforms at 25%.
This may, in part, be to UbiSoft's PS3 exclusive Haze. Though the title was meet poorly critically, it performed reasonably commercially. However, UbiSoft also published Naruto: Broken Bond, a 360 exclusive, that has sold nearly 400,000 copies to date.
UbiSoft is expecting to meet their financial goals for the fiscal year of 2008, with Tom Clancy's...

Greenberg also went on to claim that Microsoft has the biggest and broadest game lineup, which rounds out the appeal of the Xbox 360.
To quote: But the "re-launch" of the entire Xbox 360 experience will also be accompanied with in-store outreach, says Greenberg.
"We will be launching the largest marketing campaign in the history of Xbox," he says. "We will be spending more money in marketing in advertising this holiday than we ever have in the history of our business."
Finally, what Greenberg claims is the industry's "biggest and broadest" games lineup rounds out the appeal, he says. "We have had some broad-appeal games in the past, but we have never had a year where we had... Think about the music genre and all the titles we have there; from Rock Band, to Guitar Hero, to Lips, to the social games like You're in the Movies and Scene It."
Alongside core titles like Fallout 3, Fable II and Gears of War 2, Greenberg says, "we really have the best and broadest lineup we have ever had."
"So, we feel like the best games, the largest online...
277w ago - Codemasters has today officially announced FUEL. Set to revolutionise multi-terrain racing with the largest environment ever created in race gaming, FUEL will present players with an astonishing no-boundaries playfield that's over 5,000 square miles (14,000+ km²) in size.
Creating the ultimate competitive go-anywhere racing experience, FUEL will have players competing across wildly different terrain and executing spectacular death-defying stunts as they race dozens of varied two and four-wheeled rides and explore this epic world on an unprecedented scale.
FUEL is set in an alternate present in which whole swathes of the globe have been ravaged by the effects of climate change brought on by decades of environmental abuse. Here oil prices have rocketed and yet a new breed of racing junkie takes to the wastelands, pitting their grungy home-tuned vehicles against each other in an all-new extreme sport as they compete to win fuel supplies.
To triumph means travelling the wastelands to challenge the best; from the tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, abandoned lakeside resorts and much more.
