To quote: In our excitement, we accidentally left the L.A. Noire DLC out of the Store post last night. If you're enjoying L.A. Rockstar had this to say: Rockstar Games have announced the full details of L.A. Noire's extensive list of downloadable content. Starting today, and continuing through the summer months, several standalone cases, collectibles and challenges will be released via PlayStation Network, including all of the pre-order exclusive unlockable bonus content as well as a free downloadable weapon.
Starting today, players will be able to purchase the L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass, a new way to pre-order and purchase DLC that gives players access to all of the upcoming downloadable content for L.A. 133w ago - Similar to Brink for PS3, LA Noire now has a retail update patch v1.01 built with Sony's 3.5 SDK that allows users to run the PlayStation 3 game on PS3 Custom Firmware including Kmeaw and Rebug CFW via MultiMAN.
133w ago - Shortly following the PS3 Firmware 3.61 update, reports came in that users running L.A. Noire may be causing PS3 consoles to be overheating.
Today Senior Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold has addressed concerns on the issue below with an official statement on behalf of Sony and Rockstar Games, as follows:
We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire. At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat.
We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise. If you are experiencing any issues with L.A. Noire or your PS3 hardware, please contact technical support using any of the means provided below:
160w ago - ANZ Content Services Manager Nino Kalogeropoulos has unveiled the first L.A. Noire PlayStation 3 video game trailer today for fans!
To quote: Rockstar Games today released the highly anticipated first trailer for L.A. Noire, coming to PlayStation 3 in 2011, and it looks to be an absolute 'stunner'.
Developed by Team Bondi, a new Australian based studio founded by Brendan McNamara of The Getaway, in conjunction with Rockstar Games, L.A. Noire is a dark and violent detective thriller set against the backdrop of Los Angeles in the post-war years of the late 1940s, the most corrupt and violent period in the city's history.
One look at the trailer and it becomes quickly apparent why this game has been so long in development. Movie-quality voice acting and dialogue is combined with what can only be described as some of the most realistic in-game visuals yet seen in a console game (certainly as far as character animation goes).
Based on groundbreaking performance capture technology that goes beyond traditional methods to render every subtlety and nuance of an actor's facial expressions and emotions, L.A. Noire is the first game to truly explore what it means to be a detective, offering players the opportunity to solve crimes...
272w ago - Tom Crago, the CEO of Tantalus and the president of the Game Developers' Association of Australia, yesterday gave an overview of the Australian game development industry at GC Asia 2008, and IGN was there to nab a few little tidbits on L.A. Noire, the Rockstar-published game being developed out of Team Bondi in Sydney.
No one has heard anything on the title for some time, but Crago confirmed that "it's got - I'd suggest - another year or so to go". He also mentioned that it "could be the biggest budget videogame in development anywhere in the world. It would certainly... in terms of console titles, be in the top ten... LA Noire is a massive massive project."
And last, but by no means least, he mentioned that the game is coming to PS3 and 360 - up until now the title has only been confirmed for PS3. We'll let you know as soon as we can get independent confirmation from either Team Bondi or Rockstar.
Mr Crago also spoke of L.A. Noire's importance to the Australian development industry, saying that:
"It's one that we hold huge hopes for. It has been said about Australia that we've not been that successful putting out a title that really has set the world on fire; a big budget title that's sold multiple million copies and that has really put...
