Today Ikari released the first version of 'freeBOOT' for xenon (v1) and falcon (v3) consoles with JTAG/SMC-Hack. This hasn't been tested yet, so try/use at own risk for now.

Shortly following the PlayStation 3 Slim Teardown from earlier today comes a video of the new PS3 Slim's bootscreen.

It incorporates the new PlayStation 3 Slim font logo, and speculation has begun that it may be included in the PS3 Firmware 3.0 update that is scheduled to arrive on September 1, 2009.

Yesterday tmbinc has reported on XBoxHacker.net (linked above) that user "jc" in #free60 found that his XBox 360 Jasper, built June-30th 2009, already contained the new bootloader (but with a 7363 Kernel).
