43w ago - Sony Associate Producer Victor Harris announced that Jak and Daxter Collection is out today on PS Vita.

Below are the details, to quote: Today Jak and Daxter Collection launches on PS Vita. Now, over a decade since the Jak and Daxter series originally premiered on PS2, we are so proud to see the legacy of Naughty Dog's work brought together for players to enjoy - no matter where their adventures take them.

Jak and Daxter Collection brings three of your favorite Jak & Daxter adventures - Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3 - to life like never before. Mass Media has faithfully recreated the unique gameplay mechanics that you all know and love, and added touch screen support for a selection of mini games, so get ready to catch those fish and hunt down that eco.

Jak and Daxter Collection also features over 100 Trophies (including 3 Platinum) to unlock while you play through all three titles. These Trophy sets are separate from the PS3 version, so that means three more Platinum Trophies for you Trophy Hunters out there.

In addition to picking up Jak and Daxter Collection at your local game retailer, you'll be able to download the title via PSN.

Starting later today, Jak and Daxter Collection will be available...

Jak and Daxter Collection Goes Portable on PS Vita This June

100°
52w ago - Sony Associate Producer Victor Harris announced today that Jak and Daxter Collection goes portable on PS Vita this June.

Below are the details, as follows: In February 2012, Naughty Dog's beloved Jak and Daxter franchise got a faithful HD remake on PS3 in the form of Jak and Daxter Collection, satiating series fans and introducing newcomers to the duo.

This June, we're expanding the collection to the portable audience. Jak and Daxter Collection (comprised of three of Jak and Daxter's legendary adventures - Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3) is coming to PS Vita for just $29.99.

The power of PS Vita means Jak and Daxter Collection will feature authentically reproduced graphics from the original games. Longtime fans will instantly feel at home, and new players will experience the world of Jak and Daxter for the first time, along with new touch-based applications of certain mini games throughout the collection.

Jak and Daxter Collection on PS Vita has full Trophy support, but fear not Trophy hunters - the list isn't shared with the PS3 version, so go for the Platinum!

We've been hard at work on this addition to the Jak and Daxter lineage, and we can't wait to hear your hover board triumph stories as well as your trials and tribulations...

Sony Goes Behind The PS One / PS2 Classics With Jak And Daxter

50°
86w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton goes behind the PS One / PS2 Classics today with Jak and Daxter as detailed below courtesy of the PS Blog.

To quote: When I took over the SCEE PlayStation Blog a month or two back, I promised you a few new regular features.

Today, I'm happy to unveil the first of them: Behind The Classics. Every fortnight (well, that's the plan at least), we'll be talking to the creative force behind a vintage PS One or PlayStation 2 title.

To kick things off, Naughty Dog co-founder Andy Gavin was kind enough to lend us his time to discuss the making of seminal 2001 PS2 platformer Jak & Daxter.

We've got the next few entries in the series lined up, but please feel free to leave your suggestions for future interview subjects below. Manage your expectations - these people aren't always easy to track down - but we'll do our best.

Anyway, without further ado, over to Andy...

What was the original concept for the game? Was it a deliberate attempt to create a PlayStation 2 mascot to rival Crash Bandicoot?

Andy Gavin: Of course we wanted the franchise to be as big - or bigger - than Crash. And while this didn't quite come to be, it was certainly our goal.

The formulation of new game ideas involves...

92w ago - This weekend SuperBot Entertainment Community Manager Daniel Maniago has unveiled alongside new video footage below that Cole & Jak are joining the fight in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale!

To quote: We hope everyone had a great time in San Diego at Comic-Con! The convention seems to get bigger every year (not sure how that's possible), and this year was especially exciting for SuperBot since it gave us a chance to reveal the newest additions to the roster for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale!

Today at Comic-Con, the SuperBot team led a lively discussion panel that gave attendees a sneak peek at the development of PlayStation All-Stars.

Alongside our very own Chan Park and Omar Kendall, IGN's Greg Miller joined us as a moderator to explore how the team created our super roster of PlayStation characters and environments for the ultimate cross-over brawler.

In addition, they discussed alternate costume decisions, some of the different game modes available, and the concept of the "mash-up." But of course the highlight of the panel was...
