33w ago - Previously we reported on running PSP ISOs (using a PSP ISO Loader) on the PlayStation Vita console, and today a new video has surfaced from Sam Jordam of the PS Vita PSP (PSP Mini Urbanix) Kernel Exploit (ISO Loader) demo alongside the leaked files below.
36w ago - Below is a demo video from wololo (via The Z from German site PSPKing.de) of a developer running PSP ISOs using a PSP ISO Loader on the PlayStation Vita handheld console.
To quote: "You might remember the hacker whom I nicknamed “Tony”, who was able to run PS1 games and psp isos with a CFW on a PS Vita. Or you might remember Davee’s HEN running on a PS Vita back in march. You might also remember that I mentioned that several groups are now in possession of a PSP kernel exploit on the Vita.
Well it seems today that a beta tester for one of these groups was not completely careful, and leaked a video showing him running psp isos on a Vita (video below).
The video shows the tester (who is possibly Chinese) running isos for Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker and Shining Blade through a (PSP) kernel exploit.
I have been told that the initial video has since then been removed which is why I’m thinking of a beta-tester mistake, but that was probably too late and the video got copied to other networks such as youtube.
What I can tell you right now is that this video is legit, and that...
123w ago - Spanish PlayStation 3 developer nathan_r32_69 has posted a Beta release of PS3 CFW Evilnat today along with details on their BackUp Loader WIP.
To quote, roughly translated via Google:
CFW Evilnat BETA
Good fellow, you know that I decided to make a CFW and investigate, since the programming along with the PS3 is a pretty fun hobby.
"This software is shared with no warranty. Neither I, nor members of PS3SOS liable for any damages to your console. Use with caution."
I have access to the archives of the kernel of the PUP, as I can I start to create the Backup Loader.
Took several days creating this CFW as many already know, only with the disadvantage that do not have Kakarot tool as it gives me errors everywhere, so I'm doing everything manually, and it takes more logically.
I know many will think that I'm doing a CFW own seeing what's online and who are very advanced, I know I could be stupid, but the reason is very easy, if not the major draw, if I get SI Exposing LO.
Comment I did not know for sure if it would get, but I always try. For now its beginnings are already made, the CFW 3.41-Evilnat
The firmware that you create and modify debug options enabled take, I have all minimum. At...
125w ago - This weekend Liquidzigong has released what he calls Prometheus iSO Loader 6.20 TN-A for the PSP handheld. I have not tested this (as I have 5.00m33-6), but I thought it was worth sharing on here.
Great to see newer FW being able to run ISOs, and to know that the PSP hacking scene is not dead.
To quote: So there you are, Kindgdom Hearts running for the first time on a psp go (that’s right, if you have TN Hen and this loader, you can run MORE games than on an official console), and another video showing Monster Hunter Portable 3 running on a 6.20 PSP Go... enjoy
How to install/Run
Put your ISO files in the ISO folder of your memory stick. Unzip the archive in your PSP/GAME folder. Run as any normal homebrew. For TN Hen users, you of course need to run the Hen before that.
If you want to use the M33 driver, you need a copy of isofs_500.prx which is not included in this package. You can get this file from the official firmware, by using PSARDumper
iLoader is an opensource BETA specifically designed to run with the Half Byte Loader which currently works on any PSP that has Firmware 5.50, 5.55, 5.70, 6.00, 6.10, and 6.20 including on the PSP Go and also via HEN and PSP Custom Firmware.
Koens Loader is currently closed source in Alpha state, and PSP iSO files must be decrypted via CFW PSP and loaded in the unpacked format (not from an .iSO image) in order to run.
While few PSP games including Crystal Defenders are reported thus far to begin loading and then crash, work continues on both projects with the authors seeking help from those with C/C++ programming for the PSP.
