1w ago - Ubisoft Annecy Community Developer Valentin Pasquier-Desvignes announced news today on The Flying Dutchman: Assassin's Creed IV's Second Multiplayer Event.
Below are the details, to quote: Since our first Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag multiplayer event, Under Control, we've seen the AC4 community continue to grow. So we've got a new one: The Flying Dutchman!
Starting this Friday, 11/29 and going through Sunday, 12/1, assassins across the community will compete to capture Artifacts and bring them back to their base in a special Artifact Assault mode (we've got the breakdown on the specific rules below).
During the duration of the event, you'll be provided with objectives to complete, and each of these objectives will unlock exclusive content.
In this event, Artifact Assault mode will deactivate melee kills, so your only way to kill will be to take aim with the deadly pistol. Team play is mandatory to deliver the artifact to your base, so strategize to support your carrier using Sabotage, and prevent your enemies from using their ranged Pistol attacks!
In addition to the new mode, you'll have specific objectives with their own rewards to challenge yourself with. Some are individual goals, and others are a wider community goal; check out the breakdown below:...
1w ago - Guerrilla Cambridge Senior Producer Mark Green shared details on new Killzone Mercenary PS Vita updates today alongside some free multiplayer maps below.
To quote: Hi Everyone. Amongst all the excitement for the launch of PS4 and, of course, Killzone Shadowfall, here at Guerrilla Cambridge we've still been busily working away on Killzone Mercenary. We're now very pleased to announce that there will be a number of updates coming over the next few months.
First up is Update 3. In terms of functionality there will only be minimal changes, but this is the patch that reduces the size of the other patches! After installing this patch it will free up around 800MB of space for those who have already installed Updates 1 & 2. Update 3 should be ready in the next few weeks.
Update 4 is due in January and is being designed to improve Matching and to help reduce join-game connectivity problems, as well as adding an auto team-rebalancing feature.
Following that is the big one: Update 5. Two new multiplayer maps for FREE, and the release of offline Botzone for Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes.
Also in the first few months of 2014 will be Update 6, in which we're working towards continued refinements and adding support for playing Killzone Mercenary on Vita TV (only applicable...
4w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli announced today that their The Last of Us Multiplayer: Nightmare PS3 bundle is officially out tomorrow with details below.
To quote: We're keeping the spirit of Halloween alive and kicking this week as the Nightmare Bundle will be available when PlayStation Store updates in your region. This is our second batch of multiplayer head items.
These nine gnarly masks and helmets can be downloaded for free if you buy The Last of Us Season Pass. If you still haven't purchased a Season Pass, get it now as you'll be savings over 75% versus buying all DLC individually.
If you don't want to buy individual items or the Season Pass, these Nightmare head items are also part of a bundle. If you want the Nightmare Mask for your character they'll only be able to wear it if you have a Season Pass or purchase the Nightmare Bundle. In other words, the Nightmare Mask is exclusive to the Nightmare Bundle and Season Pass holders.
Get ready for more The Last of Us coverage, multiplayer head items, and DLC news in the coming weeks. See you online!
4w ago - Guerrilla Technical Director Michiel van der Leeuw shared some Killzone Shadow Fall ultra high bitrate PS4 multiplayer video footage today!
To quote: Killzone Shadow Fall has been built from the ground up for PS4, and the response to the gameplay footage so far has been overwhelmingly positive.
Unfortunately, there are limitations to streamed video on the internet, and many of the clips and trailers we've released thus far aren't being viewed in the best possible fidelity and framerate.
In order to properly demonstrate the framerate and resolution we achieve in Shadow Fall's multiplayer, we've captured and lightly compressed new footage that we're not offering through a video sharing service. Instead, we ask that you download and locally view the high-resolution, uncompressed footage directly from from us.
Important note: Please use a video player with hardware acceleration when viewing the footage. We recommend Windows Media Player for Windows users and QuickTime Player for Mac users.
Do not use a non-accelerated player (such as VLC Media Player) because the framerate and resolution of this movie are simply too high and will likely cause choppy playback.
4w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman announced details and a fresh trailer today for the Killzone Shadow Fall PS4 Multiplayer campaign!
To quote: Official Killzone Shadow Fall Game Page
It's been 30-odd years since the events of Killzone 3, and my, how things have changed. The fearsome Helghast are now refugees, their homeworld annihilated in a nuclear firestorm. In a desperate bid for survival, the surviving Helghast emigrate to an idyllic planet controlled by their mortal enemies, the ISA.
Unrest simmers, leading to the construction of a vast security wall intended to separate the Vektan haves from the Helghast have-nots. A long, fragile peace is shattered following a terrorist strike (seen in Killzone Shadow Fall's February 20th at PS4's debut conference), prompting the ISA leadership to bring out the big guns. That'd be you, elite Shadow Marshal operative Lucas Kellan. Your mission is simple: Restore order at any cost.
Launch game or no, Killzone Shadow Fall's campaign is a visual stunner on PS4, rendering a smorgasbord of reflections, dynamic lighting, and billowing smoke at a razor-sharp 1080p native resolution (1920 x 1080). It's as if developer Guerrilla Games wanted to cast off every...
