Update: Edge-Online is now reporting that Analysts Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities and Jesse Divnich of EEDAR wouldn’t be at all surprised if Sony’s next handheld supported the platform holder's proprietary UMD format.
According to PlayStation Insider (linked above), they have received a tip regarding the functionality of the upcoming PSP 4000.
Sony's PSP and PSPGo are preparing to welcome some new titles that will mark the return of the consoles in front of the stage.
Below is the Autumn PlayStation Portable release list, as follows:
October 2009:

Today we received word from the guys at www.XCM.cc that their upcoming XCM Multi-charger will be shipping to resellers soon.

Well, I hinted at it last week, that we were getting something BIG, and yeah- we did!
It retails for $10,250.00, weighs in around 45lbs, is around 19" wide and 24" deep. If you have not guessed it yet, it's a PS3 TOOL, also known as a PS3 Reference Kit, also known as the DECR-1000A.

He has also dropped by our Forums to enquire about the PS3 Hypervisor Decryption Keys, and has been in touch with CJPC via IRC as well.
To date, geohot has reported the following via tweets:

The Wii isn't the most powerful piece of hardware out there. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are more powerful, but Nintendo's machine is still putting up a fight.

The price cut on the PSP devkit has already opened PSP development to more interested parties, but apparently that's not Sony's only approach to bringing in more devs to the handheld.
According to Develop (linked above), Sony is also cutting down on the time it takes for a game to pass the quality assurance process.

The site claims to have insider sources that reckon that a quad core iteration of the low-power SGX543MP chip, codenamed "Hydra", will be present in the next generation handheld, not to be confused with the forthcoming PSPgo.
