30w ago - D3Publisher Assistant Producer Miki Takahashi has announced today that new features are invading Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable on the PS Vita handheld console!

To quote: The Earth Defense Force is back, and I'm here to tell you what to expect when it lands on PS Vita this winter! Earth Defense Force 2017 ("EDF3" in Japan) launched in 2007 as a third-person shooter developed by Sandlot and published by D3Publisher.

In Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable for PS Vita, the core of the game (the 3D arcade action and the system features) remain the same as in EDF2017, but by adding many additional features the game feels completely transformed and remastered.

These additions include an online co-op mode, new missions, enemies and weapons, and a new playable character in Pale Wing.

The story is set in the year 2017. The Ravagers - a vile alien race - are coming to Earth, and they have one thing on their minds: the complete destruction of mankind!

158w ago - Today Producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda has announced that Helghast are invading Sony's PSP in the title Hot Shots: Get a Grip.

To quote: Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip is ready to serve a court-full of fun for PSP systems, and will be shipping to retail stores on Tuesday, June 29, 2010! And it will also be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store on the same day!

There will be plenty of posts coming down the web with further details, but let me share this golden nugget of information: this is an all-new Hot Shots Tennis cast in an all-new tennis adventure of the likes that you've never seen before (ever-ever times infinity).

First off, there is the new Story Mode, where you will travel the world spreading tennis love to everyone and anyone you meet. Part of the gameplay will require a certain level of exploration -- its like Indiana Jones with a racquet, but with less ophidiophobia and more giant reptile costumes. To quote: It's a beautiful Cinco de Pata-yo and as we speak, thousands of magical keys (read: PSN vouchers) are heading towards a destination near you...ready to unlock the internet's mighty download powers, filling your PSP with Patapon bliss.

222w ago - PlayStation Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein shared the following "intel" via PS Blog today:

In the upcoming (just 12 days away!) Killzone 2, the ISA forces lead an assault of the planet Helghan. But that doesn't mean the Helghast are on the defensive. In fact, my intel tells me that the Helghast forces are en route to PlayStation Home today.

Fortunately, the Helghast won't be armed with STA-52 Light Assault Rifles (per se), but with demo codes for Killzone 2.

So if you don't already have access (by pre-ordering), just jump into Home tonight starting at about 6pm Pacific (9pm Eastern) and keep an eye out for the Helghast soldiers. When you find one, work up the courage and... just ask. If they've got any left, they'll direct message you with the demo key.

Then you can punch that code into the PlayStation Store (upper right corner), download the demo, and repay the Helghan emissary by... invading their planet. Oh well.
