Video: Introducing What Remains of Edith Fitch, New PS4 Exclusive

50°
2w ago - Giant Sparrow Creative Director Ian Dallas officially introduced What Remains of Edith Fitch, a new PS4 exclusive game with a PlayStation 4 video trailer and details below!

To quote: Our first project, The Unfinished Swan, was not a horror game.

It was a surreal first-person painting game inspired by our love of classic children's books. But when people saw our [Register or Login to view links], of splattering an all-white landscape to reveal the world around you, lots of players assumed it was going to be a horror game.

Which was weird because at [Register or Login to view links] we don't really make horror games. We make strange experiences that give players a chance to explore things they've never seen before. The Unfinished Swan wasn't meant to be scary but I think it ended up feeling that way for a lot of people because it was so unfamiliar. And there's nothing scarier than the unknown.

That brings us to our next game, What Remains of Edith Finch, which we've just announced. I think a lot of people are going to assume it's a horror game too. This time around they're a bit closer.

What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of short stories...

Wattam PS4: From Katamari Damacy Creator Keita Takahashi

50°
2w ago - Funomena Co-founder Robin Hunicke officially introduced Wattam PS4 from Katamari Damacy Creator Keita Takahashi today alongside a PlayStation 4 video trailer below.

To quote: Hi! This is Keita and Robin here to share with you this first glimpse of our new project at Funomena. When we told people that we had begun to collaborate on a new game, they were very curious about what it could be. It is called "Wattam".

The idea for this game came from when Keita was playing with his two-year old son, and wondered about what if all toys lived, and connected by themselves? It would be such a fun world to explore and play with!

The word "Wattam" itself is actually composed of the Tamil and Japanese words for "making a circle" or "making a loop". The initial prototype for this game was made by Keita and his friend Vikram, who are from these two cultures respectively, and this new word acknowledges one of the game's core inspirations: making connections between different types of things.

But what you'll see here today is actually about a square-shaped person. It is a sneak peek into the life of the Mayor of the world of Wattam. We hope you enjoy meeting him, and the other characters of Wattam, as we reveal...

10w ago - Square Enix Japan Studios Product Manager Kaori Takasue posted up a video today introducing the Magic Trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX on PS3 below.

To quote: Hello all! Have you ever had that feeling of wanting to share a game that's really special to you with a best friend, and you can't quite find the right words to communicate what's so great about it, or why it has that certain charm?

I know that I have friends who aren't familiar with Kingdom Hearts just yet, and I'm always thinking about how I can make them see how magical the franchise is through the trailers we make and to help them get familiar with the deep, multi-game story behind Kingdom Hearts.

The "Introducing the Magic Trailer" is something we've put together to help. It perfectly describes how everything that happens in Kingdom Hearts is connected.

Or, if you've yet to play a Kingdom Hearts game or have no idea what it's all about, then this is the perfect trailer for you too! This will help you get up to speed on the story, the characters, and the fun of Kingdom Hearts. No matter where you are with Kingdom...

Introducing Pillar: A PS4 Psychological Minigame Collection

50°
17w ago - Pillar Designer / Programmer / Musician Michael Hicks officially introduced Pillar, a PS4 psychological minigame collection to PlayStation 4 fans today!

To quote: Hey everyone! My name is [Register or Login to view links], and I'm the designer/programmer/musician for a game I'm announcing today called [Register or Login to view links].

Pillar is a collection of minigames, where each game represents a different type of personality that we find in people. For example, there are introverts who lose energy from being around people, extroverts who expand energy from interacting with others, characters who make decisions with logic, characters who make decisions with feeling and so on. My goal is to express these traits entirely through gameplay mechanics.

Pillar was born out of a confluence of ideas: the first influence I had was from [Register or Login to view links], a movie that examines multiple characters with different storylines but seamlessly weaves them all together.

I realized this is something video games can do too but I've never seen it utilized in a way that's as powerful as this film. For instance, in some games there are characters that have unique abilities, like swimming underwater or...
