100°
7w ago - Sony Social Media Senior Manager Sid Shuman shared an Uncharted 4 first interview from E3 2014 today with Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann below!

To quote: Last night's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End trailer (which ran on PS4 hardware, by the way) closed the PlayStation E3 2014 Press Conference with a bang.

To get further insight into what Naughty Dog is planning for Nathan Drake, I sat down with Creative Director Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley, who famously catapulted last year's The Last of Us to more than 200 Game of the Year Awards.

But Straley and Druckmann are no strangers to the Uncharted series, having played key roles in both Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Watch the video above to learn more about their plans for one of 2015's most anticipated games.

To quote: Our first-ever single player DLC, [Register or Login to view links], was unveiled last week in New York during the PS4 launch event. If you haven't seen the teaser, check it out now. There are some cool hints as to what kind of gameplay you'll be seeing in the video.

The Last of Us: Left Behind is one element of our $19.99 Season Pass. We wanted the Season Pass to be all-inclusive and a great value. The first piece of DLC for the Season Pass was our Abandoned Territories Map Pack. Tales of Xillia Interview: Hideo Baba on the Return of an RPG Giant

56w ago - Sony Contributing Editor Roland Fauster shared an interview today on Tales of Xillia with Hideo Baba on the return of an RPG giant.

Below are the details, as follows: Hi there RPG fans! 2013 has now silently swapped into its second half but beware - before the end of the year there are all manner of great new games lined up that have the potential to blow our minds.

Case in point - acclaimed JRPG Tales of Xillia, which [Register or Login to view links] is finally bringing to western shores after two years of waiting.

With the release now only a few weeks away, we caught up with the game's producer Hideo Baba and asked him to tell us all there is to know about this latest installment in the Tales franchise.

Can you describe the core concept behind the Tales games for any players who are not familiar with the series?

Hideo Baba: I would like to say that the key concept in the Tales series is that it is an RPG that is set in a fantasy world describing the growth of the hero, heroine and other main characters.

We always put a key theme and message in the storyline to convey to players through the gameplay and would like players to feel encouraged and moved, which leads them to take the first step towards a new...

Transistor Interview: Why Indies Matter on PlayStation 4 / PS4

57w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared a Transistor interview today on why Indies Matter on PlayStation 4 / PS4 below.

To quote: One of the stand-out moment at this year's PlayStation press briefing at E3, for me at least, was when eight independent developers took to the stage to show off their PS4 titles.

As Adam Boyes explained following the show, indie games are a key part of what makes PS4 such a special platform, and it was a landmark moment seeing these fantastic teams sharing the limelight with AAA titles such as Assassin's Creed IV and Final Fantasy XV.

Leading them out were Greg Kasavin and Amir Rao of Supergiant Games, who announced that Transistor, their bewitchingly beautiful follow-up to smash hit action RPG Bastion, will be debuting on PS4 when development wraps up in 2014.

I caught up with Greg on the showfloor the following day to pick his brains about the role of indies on our new platform, and to find out a little more about Transistor.

PlayStation.Blog: Supergiant started out just a few years ago in 2009 as a humble developer with just two staff members (it's now up to 10). Fast forward to 2013 and you're presenting your new game onstage at the PlayStation E3 press conference. That must feel surreal...

Sound Shapes: Special Guests in the Milkcrate, Baiyon Interview

50°
61w ago - Today Mark Rabo of the Sound Shapes Team has shared details with some special guests in the Milkcrate and Baiyon interview below.

To quote: Everyone has the friends who know all the new bands and all the cool music, who make the mixtapes and the killer roadtrip soundtracks, the friends who you always ask, "What are you listening to?"

We made some good friends creating Sound Shapes, the kind of friends that are deep into games and music. So with Sound Shapes being all about games and music too, we just had to ask them, "So what are you playing?"

Our first Milkcrate release was March 12th and featured six albums we chose here at Queasy. For our second release we've asked our friends at The Verge, Gamespot, and Ghostly International to create Milkcrate albums with their favorite community-made levels.

Also invited was Japanese multimedia artist, Art and Music Director on [Register or Login to view links], [Register or Login to view links].

Here's our interview with him about his experience curating the Milkcrate.

Sound Shapes: What excited you about the Sound Shapes Milkcrate?

Baiyon: For starters, being able to work again with Shaw-han Liem was definitely one of the most exciting...
