A rumor is floating around that new PS3 firmware is to be released within the next 24 hours. The rumor comes from a guy who called Sony regarding Warhawk issues who replied that the new firmwarwe will fix some issues and include USB downloading. Warhawk has been freezing and experienced a number of glitches, so maybe this update will address that, or perhaps its a pack of lies - we'll know for sure soon enough.
"So i called sony to complain about warhawk and see if they had any useful information about the freezing and stats etc...
This is what i was told from the sweet lady on the other end...
Sony is realeasing update 1.92 on the 4th (tomorrow) and it will be for usb downloading and game updates to fix some issues. Could be some hope for the freezing issues. And if this info is old, then im sorry."
Quote from the source: "Our latest update to the game brings you a range of improvements detailed below as well preparing the game for the MotorStorm™ Revenge Weekend PLAYSTATION®Network download pack that will be available to purchase within days and two additional vehicle packs that will be available later this month.
You will find more information on these in the PLAYSTATION®Store or within the PlayStation Forums at www.playstation.com in the coming days. Here’s what the patch brings:
Vehicle Select enhancement – your last-used vehicle in each class will now be presented as the default choice during vehicle selection.
Assigned player colours are now displayed in the lobby to make keeping track of your friends and rivals easier during online races and Eliminator matches.
Further Player-Stat Improvements.
Purchasers of ‘Coyote Revenge’ can now race this track in Online and Time Attack.
The game itself is called Ferrari Challenge, and it's aiming to offer nothing less ambitious than the entire Ferrari production line since 1947. There's one rather large caveat there, in that it will ship with 30 different models at launch, but System 3 hopes to fill out the rest of the catalog with monthly update. There's no solid information yet on pricing, but System 3 seem keen to take the microtransaction route via the PlayStation Store.
The same will go for tracks in the game, with the 13 available in the boxed copy being expanded with new ones each month (and Monaco as soon as the game launches). In the meantime, there'll be seven from Europe and six from America available at the start, four of which were available in the demo that we played at Ferrari's very own Mugello track in Italy. Sadly, that particular track wasn't on offer this time (it was last seen in Forza Motorsport 2), but Monza, Silverstone, Misano, and Paul Ricard all looked to accurately represent t... More »
SCEA has stated on the Official Playstation boards that discussion of PSP homebrew and hacking is BANNED. SCEA state that homebrew applications void the warranty of the PSP and an official area to discuss such features can not be provided. Basically EVERYTHING related to PSP homebrew/hacking is banned, anyone that ignores their policy will be banned and considered for other 'disciplinary actions' as determined by their admins. The official Playstation boards were FULL of homebrew discussion incase you didn't know!

Earlier today rumors spread that a new 60GB PS3 Starter Pack with Heavenly Sword and F1 Championship would make its way to Europe. Well it turns out the rumor is partially true. Beginning on September 19th, coinciding with the release of Heavenly Sword, France will be getting a new 60GB package.
SCEE provided the following details about the new 60GB Starter Packs:
- There will be an extra controller
- All SCEE regions will start getting a new 60GB starter pack
- Two bonus titles will be included in the package
- Depending on the region, freedom to change the titles is up to the individual markets based on their unique conditions.
Stay tuned for more information on the regions in which SCEE plans to ship the new 60GB bundles.
That's right, you don't have to download the Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles expansion to play it on your Xbox 360, Bethesda today confirmed that the pack will be going to retail in October and will also include the Knights of the Nine content.
The retail disc will sell for $30, no word yet on whether they will be doing the same for the Playstation 3, though I'm told they are looking into options.
Bethesda also let us know that Prima is releasing a new nearly 500-page Game of the Year edition of their Oblivion Game Guide which will cover all of the content released to date.
Hit the jump for the release.
