To quote: Today a whole new group of operatives joined the Shadow War. October 12 marks the start of the GameStop and EB Games pre-order MAG Public Beta period.

At 10:00 AM this morning, all those who pre-ordered MAG from GameStop or EB Games in Canada received access to the MAG Public Beta and joined existing Public Beta users. Be prepared to choose your side - Raven, Valor, and S.V.E.R. are once again locked in battle.

The hours for this phase of the MAG Public Beta are:

Monday - Friday:
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
8:00 PM - 12:00 AM EDT

238w ago - And by complete, we mean complete complete. Sony says, and you may already have heard this figure tossed around, that there's some 420 hours worth of play time in Resistance 2 required to unlock everything.

Thankfully, for at least my own review purposes, the single player campaign should take you about 9 to 11 hours to burn through. That's totally reasonable.

But if you plan on dedicating the time to do everything, unlock every level, find every briefing, max out every class, you've got about 18 days of your life ahead of you just playing R2.

And if you do, you're a more dedicated man than me.

To quote: As development on the game is wrapping up in here in Burbank, and the last few bugs are hunted down and squashed, we wanted to make an announcement we're very excited about. Since Resistance: Fall of Man, one of the biggest feature requests for the game was that we implemented split-screen online play.

We are happy to announce that Resistance 2 will feature 2-player split-screen play for both competitive play as well as our 8-player online co-op campaign! Now you won't have to stop leveling up your medic just because your friend is over!





In addition - we recently announced the contents of our collector's edition. Many of you wrote in asking for the bonus disc to be a Blu-Ray instead of a DVD. We can also announce that the Bonus Disc will now indeed be a Blu-Ray disc, bringing almost all of the special features to you in High-Definition.

245w ago - Speaking to VG247 at Games Convention, Quantic Dream boss David Cage said a single walk through of top drawer PS3 thriller Heavy Rain is likely to take no more than 12 hours.

"We're still in the middle of production, so I can't really tell you the exact time of the game, but we're targeting a game between eight and 12 hours in gameplay for one walk through," he said.

Seen for the first time in Germany last month, the game showed what appeared to be unparalleled plot-branching, a fact, Cage said, likely to keep the hardcore coming back for much more.

"It's impossible in one walk through to see everything there is to see," he added.

"And that's going to be OK. For most gamers, they're going to play it once, and really enjoy it and have a great journey, but some hardcore gamers will want to come back and see everything, and all possible options."

Heavy Rain has been branded PS3's "most important title for next year" by SCEE boss David Reeves.
