Devolver Digital Announces Hotline Miami Hits PS4 on August 19th

100°
2w ago - Devolver Digital Chief Financial Officer Fork Parker announced today that Hotline Miami hits PS4 on August 19th, 2014.

Below are the details, to quote: A little over one year ago, Jonatan Soderstrom and Dennis Wedin's Hotline Miami launched on PS3 and PS Vita, thanks to the efforts of fellow developer Abstraction Games and the good folks at PlayStation.

Between now and then, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was announced and PS4 took the world by storm, but we always knew that Dennaton Games' landmark hit had to make its way to PS4. That's why we're absolutely thrilled to announce that Hotline Miami will launch for PS4 on August 19th in North America.

So what's new? Well, the team didn't want to tamper with the perfection that is Hotline Miami for the latest release, but there were certainly some fun new options that were only possible on PS4.

Gamers can now use DualShock 4′s touch pad to look around and lock on enemies, and actually shake the controller itself to perform execution moves when you have an enemy pinned on the ground. And to take the violence to the next level, the sounds of those same execution moves are amplified through the speaker on the DualShock 4 itself. Ouch.

50°
44w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer is here with this weeks PlayStation Plus content updates, which feature Hotline Miami free for PS Plus members.

To quote: Put on a mask (did I mention they're all animal heads and that each one has a different benefit?) and 'take care' of anyone your answering machine tells you to. Sure, it may sound a little crazy, but that's part of Hotline Miami's appeal.

This top-down action game requires careful planning to execute the perfect take-downs. Starting tomorrow, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download Hotline Miami for free on both PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3.

There are also loads of spooky titles on sale as part of the Sale of the Dead, including recent sensation The Last of Us and other zombie favorites like Dead Island, Dead Nation, Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare and Telltale's The Walking Dead episodes.

All of these PS Plus benefits will be available after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, October 22nd.

52w ago - Devolver Digital Chief Financial Officer Fork Parker confirmed today alongside a video that Hotline Miami 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

Below are the details, to quote: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is headed to PS4 and PS Vita, but hopefully you've gathered that from the headline already.

Almost as fast as [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links] could announce Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, we started getting questions on whether it would be coming to PlayStation platforms.

And again, if it hasn't sunk in yet, the answer is "yes." Please pay attention. So let's move on a bit and talk more about why we're bringing the neon brutality and blazing beats of the next Hotline Miami to PlayStation.

The original Hotline Miami launched on PS3 and Vita earlier this summer, and the PlayStation community has been incredibly supportive of the game that Dennaton Games originally created and Abstraction Games rebuilt for the platform.

Heck, "supportive" doesn't do it justice - the fans have gone crazy about Hotline Miami, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Even when there was a little hiccup and some Trophies weren't...

Gamescom Indie Avalanche: N++, Volume, Hotline Miami 2 Details

50°
52w ago - Sony Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Ahmad has unveiled an avalanche of Indie titles for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita at Gamescom 2013 today including N++, Volume and Hotline Miami 2 with details below.

To quote: Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Shahid Ahmad at PlayStation Europe. Strategic Content is the name of the game.

It's a fancy corporate-sounding term, but it's also a bit "black-ops" sounding, so that's cool. Our focus has been working with the indie dev community over the last year and a half, but it's not all we do. We also work with larger publishers. In this post, we'll be focusing on the indie story.

At gamescom, we've just underlined our commitment to bringing PlayStation fans the creative work of the some of the best indie talent in the world. Many of the games we've announced from our indie development partners will be making their console debut on PS4 and PS Vita. We've also got titles continuing to come to PS3.

Remember, at PlayStation, we allow the smallest indies to self-publish on the PS Store alongside the biggest publishers, we're democratic like that. We're also working hard to make things better for our partners, large or small, all the time.

Let's take a closer look at some of the titles we announced.
