Guide: Convert DVD to MKV HD Video to Keep the High Quality

200°
292w ago - I figured I would share this here since I just went through this myself.. Many people complain that when they convert DVD to video and watch it on laptop or PC the quality gets bad.

How to resolve this issue? We can do so by converting DVD to MKV and other HD video formats. These HD videos are often bigger than standard video and maintain the high quality.

Part 1: What's MKV HD video?

An MKV HD video file is a Matroska file, the Matroska Multimedia Container is an open standard free Container format. It is similar in conception to other containers like AVI, MP4 or ASF, but is entirely open in specification, And the size is often much more bigger than common video for the HD code methods.

Part 2: How to convert DVD to MKV HD video to keep the high quality?

Here I listed a few good DVD to MKV converters I found on Google, they all have good output quality, can input DVD disk, DVD folder, IFO, ISO and support MKV HD video, but you can select a better one with special feature for your needs.

CES 2009: Sony Teases with High-Quality PlayStation 3 3D

293w ago - We've heard from many of you that 3D technology is something you're interested in seeing at CES, and Sony has one of the most impressive displays of 3D at their booth... but you won't learn anything about it.

"Don't get caught up with specs," the Sony representative told me. "We're not going to talk about specifications. This is just a look at what 3D could look like if Sony decided to move in this direction."

The idea was just to show the technology to people, to see if they would be interested in sitting at home, wearing a dorky set of black glasses, watching content in 3D.

I couldn't pry details about how the 3D affect was achieved, or if the display could turn any source into 3D, but what's clear is that, glasses or no, the 3D affect is amazing. Sony showed off Wipeout HD running in true 3D, and I was ready to whip out my credit card right there. Frank and I both agreed, this was one of the best demos of 3D technology we have ever seen.

"3D has come a long way, hasn't it?" the representative asked me. Sure it has, but give me some details. We can't get excited if all the press gets is a short tech demo. The crowd around the display was large, and filled with "ooohs" and "aaaahs."

This probably won't be the last 3D display we see at CES, but as a proof of concept,...
