11w ago - Today Brand and Hardware Marketing Manager James Olivier announced that the Grand Theft Auto V Pulse Headset and Manager application are available to coincide with the official release of GTA V worldwide.
This headset includes all of the great features experienced on the existing PULSE wireless stereo headset such as BassImpact technology, virtual 7.1 surround sound and a crystal clear built-in noise cancelling mic.
In addition, the headset also comes loaded with a special Grand Theft Auto V Sound Mode. This sound mode enhances immersion by letting players use both sound and vibration to sense the impact of bullets, helping to locate incoming gunfire in hectic shootouts; as well as a vibration-based heartbeat to indicate low health, and additional effects to enhance explosions, crashes...
13w ago - According to CVG (linked above), Sony is preparing to reveal the final piece of its PlayStation 4 hardware strategy at TGS (Tokyo Game Show) 2013 by showcasing a PlayStation-branded virtual reality headset for the upcoming PS4 console.
To quote: "It originally intended to reveal the headset at Gamescom but plans fell through at the eleventh hour. The company is currently weighing up whether the PS4 device should be pitched as a key differentiator for the console or a non-essential add-on.
The matter has been slightly complicated, but not derailed, by the growing industry support for Oculus Rift. Sony's device will be a categorical rival to Oculus, and for months there have been rumours suggesting the two companies are seeking a partnership.
A games developer familiar with Sony's plans, who wished to remain anonymous, told CVG that Evolution Studios is currently working with the device to simulate a cockpit view on its PS4 title Drive Club.
Another developer claimed the virtual reality headset resembles the 3D headset that Sony first revealed in January 2011. The head-mounted display will be available separately, like with the new PlayStation Eye, in order to keep the baseline PS4 price as low as possible.
In August, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida suggested...
23w ago - Since the official Sony PlayStation 4 unveil, some pictures of the PS4 box contents and bundled headset have now surfaced.
Below are the details, from DualShockers.com (linked above) to quote: "We already know that the box of the PS4 will include the console, the DualShock 4, a HDMI cable, a mono headset, a power cord, an USB cord and the instructions.
What we didn't yet know is how some of those components will look. Today the picture portrayed above has been floating on the internet. Is it the first picture or mock up of what will be inside the coveted PS4 box or a very well made fake?
Interestingly enough the USB cable seems to be a two meter one, at least making a visual comparison with an equivalent one I have at home, while the cable included in the PS3 was only one meter long. This might give some more leeway to those like me that like to play for extended sessions and prefer to have the controller plugged in.
Pushing the picture in question through some rather heavy enlarging on photoshop shows no real evident signs of alteration, but we weren't able to confirm the validity of the source, so for now we'll chalk it as a rumor. The headset...

36w ago - Today Sony Computer Entertainment Hardware Engineer Todd Tokubo has announced news of a Bioshock Infinite Audio Mode for the Pulse Elite Edition Headset.
To quote: Tomorrow marks a big day for world-acclaimed studio Irrational Games with the release of Bioshock Infinite, so it's only suitable that we mark the occasion with something special.
For the first time, we are partnering with a game developer to deliver a specially crafted audio experience exclusive to PlayStation. Tonight at midnight, we are launching a new audio mode for the PULSE-Elite Edition Headset designed especially for BioShock Infinite. Better still, it will be free.
We worked with them to take advantage of our new BassImpact technology embedded in the Pulse-Elite headset to create a sound profile that enables players to feel gunshots and explosions in a much more dynamic and powerful way.
Engineers on both teams worked together to tie the pulses from BassImpact to key audio elements in the game, creating a more immersive experience as you fight your way through...
