158w ago - Sony revealed today that the PS3 has reached the expected sales of 13 million units for the 2009 fiscal year as part of their latest fiscal report.
As previously
reported, with new and more efficient PS3 consoles shipping Sony has moved one step closer to hardware profitability.
The total of PlayStation 3 units sold so far (as of March, 2010) worldwide is now at 35.7 million since the system launched in late 2006.
Furthermore, Sony is forecasting another 15 million units sold by the end of the next fiscal year. In other words, they are expecting the PlayStation 3 to reach 50.7 million units in lifetime sales by March 31, 2010.
