6w ago - Codemasters Ben Walke shared details today on taking the race online with GRID 2's multiplayer.
To quote: We've talked previously about World Series Racing and the single player experience of GRID 2 - now it's time to talk multiplayer.
Multiplayer in GRID 2 is big. Bigger than anything we've done before. More depth, more choice, more progression... but before we get to the BIG details, we'll just chuck in a little reminder that you can play in two-player split-screen across our game modes. It's old school, and we love it.
GRID 2 utilizes a multiplayer system that is completely separate to the single player portion of the game. We want to bring the best of online gaming to the racing genre and a dedicated, distinct game is the only way we could achieve what we wanted.
As you progress you'll be able to earn XP and cash, which will allow you to purchase cars and upgrades, and you'll constantly have new challenges and rivals.
You'll also be able to showcase your individuality by customising and modifying your cars. With over six billion possible combinations to choose from, you'll certainly stand out on the grid.
The Clean vs. The Dirty
Naturally these two types of racers don't get on very well, it's the Cats vs. Dogs of the racing...

To quote: Hello racing fans! It's been a busy few weeks for GRID 2. We've confirmed a 31st May release date in Europe, announced some pre-order bonuses and today I'm here to talk a little bit more about the game. So let's jump straight in...
Introducing: World Series Racing (WSR)
At Codemasters we love racing of every flavour, but professional motorsports has always been splintered into different disciplines and formulas around the world. One of the questions we've kicked around for years in the Studio has been simple - who is the greatest? Which driver from which series is the best?
In GRID 2, we're looking to answer that question with World Series Racing - WSR. It's a new motorsport series that starts from the grassroots and grows into a huge Prime Time competition.
Racers from different disciplines - street racers, drifters, track racers and more - all come together in one global series, with each driver moving in and out of their comfort zone. So who is the greatest? Join WSR in GRID 2 and find out...
41w ago - Codemasters Community Manager Ben Walke has confirmed today that Grid 2 will be roaring on PlayStation 3 in 2013 with details below, as follows:
Hey there everybody. Back in 2008 the team here at Codemasters released Race Driver: GRID, which set new standards for damage, AI and visuals, and introduced the Flashback rewind feature. All our hard work was recognised the following year when the game went on to win a BAFTA award.
And now it's time to unveil the sequel, due out in Summer 2013. One of the big talking points around the original GRID was the way the cars felt.
We've built on this for the follow-up with our new TrueFeel Handling System, which uses real physics to hit that sweet spot, ensuring that GRID 2 stays true to its predecessor and delivers exceptional handling throughout.
We can't talk about GRID 2 without mentioning the cars - in your garage there will be a selection of handpicked automotive icons spanning four decades and three continents; USA, Europe and Asia so no matter where you race you'll always be behind the wheel of something exceptional.
Talking of locations, you'll be visiting the likes of Paris, Abu Dhabi the California Coast and many more. Whether on beautiful city streets,...

260w ago - Speaking to ButtonBandits.com, Chief Game Designer Ralph Fulton has said that he believes forthcoming title GRID is the most exciting racing game ever made and that competing titles such as Forza and Gran Turismo are all about the car list rather than racing.
When asked if he was pleased development was now over and how he thought the final product had shaped up Ralph said "we have been desperate to get everything into it we wanted to get into it and I think we're all really pleased now the dust has settled on it with the product we've got.
I think it's a really exciting racing game, I'd go as far to say it's the most exciting racing game ever made, it looks stunning and I think were all going to take a well deserved rest after this."
On comments in forums and online on the number of cars in the game compared to competing titles such as Gran Tourismo and Forza, Ralph said "Yeah I can understand that. When you have competing games like Gran Turismo and Forza, which pride themselves on the car list, there all about the car list, that's their focus. I know Turn 10 have been quite open about the fact that Forza is just really a car list. Which is great for them.
Does it make sense for Codemasters to try and do the...
