The new Xbox 360 Dashboard OS update is coming soon and it is going to be one of the biggest changes to the Xbox 360 since the system hit the market.

It is going to include the first complete redesign of the Xbox interface called the NXE by all the cool kids. The New Xbox Experience (NXE) is going to be the best thing to hit the Xbox and it is going to completely redefine how we use it.

One of the niftiest things at Penny Arcade Expo 08 was seeing the new Xbox dashboard. Xbox Live's own Major Nelson showed it off. He made sure to stress that it is still a work in progress and that there was an army of programmers over in Redmond that were cranking out code and testing it as he gave the demo.

As a side note if you ever go to a game expo or press event and Major Nelson asks you not to film something in the presentation and you do it anyway and then go on and keep on filming after he notices you and calls you out and you don't stop it then y... More »

This is what happens when gamers fuse their favorite games together. While I can’t particularly see Halo 3, and LittleBigPlanet fusing together well, one creator has gone through with it, and created his very own Halo 3: Finish the Fight level.

In the video below, Sackboy is wearing a green costume to imitate Master Chief, and as your playing the level, the Bungie song kicks giving it the extra effect.

The Warthog vehicles I have to admit are pretty nifty, and while you won’t be necessarily kicking alien ass, this is definitely one of the better levels in the beta so far. Be sure to finish the fight if you have access to the beta, or watch the video.

Video can be viewed below courtesy of GameTrailers.. Enjoy!

As the title states, here is a list of 10 XBox 360 tricks that you won't hear from Microsoft:

1. Connect your Xbox 360 to two screens at once

If you've got one of the component/composite dual video cables – the one that comes in the box with most 360s – you can have your console display its gamey goodness on two TVs simultaneously. The trick is to flick the cable's switch to Standard Definition but hook up the composite (yellow) cable to one screen and the component (the red, green, blue) cables to another. It won't be high-def, but it could be handy if you're staging a mini LAN party and want to set up a display for bored spectators to point their eyes at.

2. Play your own music in original Xbox games

That you can fire up your own MP3s during a 360 game is common knowledge (and re-soundtracking moody horror games with the Benny Hill theme tune never stops being funny), but it doesn't work if you're playing a title f... More »

Ryan Payton (hats, in tow) has left Kojima Productions. The Assistant Producer spearheaded a more Western approach to controls for Metal Gear Solid 4, making the game far more approachable and much tighter than the previous installment. He also helped warm the MGS4 team up to more Western developed games like Gears of War as well. Why did he leave and what's next? His answers after the jump.

Why did you leave Konami and Kojima Productions?

Back when I joined Kojima Productions in 2005, I hit the ground running and didn't stop until we shipped Metal Gear Solid 4. Then, for the first time in three years, I wasn't working on any games and I had a three month vacation ahead of me. I went back home to my family's place in Washington state and literally three weeks after MGS4 launched we were hit with some pretty heavy news concerning my mom.

I don't think I need to go into details, but all of this has reminded me about how important fami... More »

Sandy Spangler has revealed two new EyeToy games that will be released by Christmas this year.

Although Hero is the more interesting out of the two. It is a title in which the sword can be tracked at all times and allows for more complex gameplay, sounds like the Wii better be on its guard!

To quote: Hero was undoubtedly the more interesting of the two, being the first story-driven EyeToy game. (That means the other eighteen EyeToy games were just gimmicky mini-game collections then?) This title is controlled by means of a fluorescent-green foam toy sword. If you felt silly with a Wiimote in your hand, you’re gonna love this.

As the game can track where the sword is at all times, this allows for more complex gameplay. The first thing to note is that EyeToy Play: Hero is played from a first-person perspective, so the player’s image is not displayed onscreen like most other EyeToy games.

What is seen onscreen is a glowing ... More »
