167w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer has confirmed today that the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year (GOTY) Edition is coming on October 12, 2010.
To quote: It's hard to believe it's been nearly a whole year since UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves was released!
Since then we've sold over 3.8 million copies worldwide of UNCHARTED 2, hosted more than 125 million online multiplayer matches and won more Game of the Year Awards than we know what do with.
Not exactly a bad problem to have. To commemorate UNCHARTED 2 as the definitive Game of the Year in 2009, we're proud to reveal the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition!
On October 12, 2010, copies of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition will start hitting retailers all over North America. For just $49.99, you'll get the regular retail Blu-ray of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves along with a "super voucher" for the PlayStation Network Store that lets you download ALL of the following DLC content:
• PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack
• UNCHARTED: Drake's Fortune Multiplayer Pack
• UNCHARTED 2 Siege Expansion Pack
• Currency Multiplier which grants Double XP up to level 10 in Multiplayer
• Golden Guns option for the AK-47 and the 92FS 9mm...
227w ago - The LittleBigPlanet GOTY (Game Of The Year) Edition Box Art has recently been uncovered by Kotaku (linked above), and appears to sport a lower price and offer $30 in downloadable content.
According to IGN, online retailer Amazon (dead link now) brought to light a few bits of information on the title which has since been taken down from the site completely.
To quote: While details on what that extra content thrown in for free will be aren't specified in the Amazon.com listing, the lower price and extra goodies really should convince you to pick up a copy of LittleBigPlanet already. I mean, have you seen how cute these Sackboy things are? Seriously. Just precious.
The original report on the LittleBigPlanet re-release indicated that "much" of the downloadable content already available would be bundled with the core game. Whether that includes the dozens of available downloadable costumes or simply some of the game's user-created levels is unclear. The "valued at" makes us wonder.
238w ago - As you may or may not have heard, all of the Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content for Fallout 3 will be coming to the PS3 this summer, thereby making the Xbox 360 exclusive DLC not Xbox 360 exclusive at all.
Timed exclusive? Whatever, that doesn't mean anything to me.
In addition, however, two new chunks of DLC are coming to both platforms, though the 360 gets it first... again. So you might think to yourselves, dear PS3 owners, that you've waited long enough and want to buy that DLC right away. But not so fast!
The DLC is only going to start trickling out this summer, the two new pieces actually hitting in the fall. As it turns out, a Game of the Year edition is also coming out in the fall, October to be more specific, and it's going to have all five DLCs in one package. If you've managed to hold out this long, you might as well just wait and get the GOTY edition.
As an expert calculator user, I can tell you that five pieces of DLC at $10 apiece is $50, and that's on top of buying the game in the first place. Trade that game in, however, (or sell it) and you'll likely make up the $10 difference. This gets you all of the DLC without taking up precious hard drive space, and it doesn't cost you anything more than if you downloaded it all separately.
