167w ago - Previously we reported on PlayStation Move's confirmation and official specs from GDC 2010, and now SCEE's Product Marketing Director Mark Hardy has confirmed more details alongside a video!

Jack Tretton of SCEA also revealed that PlayStation Move will be available in a range of bundles, from stand-alone controllers, to a starter kit and even the 'Ultimate Bundle' which will include a PS3 console as well as the starter kit.

He noted that this will be the biggest effort of the Sony year and promised huge TV exposure!

The Sony Press Conference at the 2010 Games Developer Conference (GDC) will be streamed live on G4TV, and among other announcements it will likely include fresh details on the upcoming PlayStation 3 Motion Controller.

Below is a GDC 2010 video on it via GameSpot with SCEA's Rick Marks alongside tonight's broadcast details, as follows:

"G4TV.com will be streaming the entirety of Sony's GDC Press Conference starting at 7PM ET on Wednesday, March 10.

What does Sony have up their collective sleeve? We could see some possible game announcements, and a new demonstration of their new motion controller, but the only way to find out for sure is to tune in and watch it unfold live... so... do that.

167w ago - Today Sony has announced at GDC 2010 that PhyreEngine is expanding to the PSP for developers.

For those unaware, PhyreEngine for the PS3 is an advanced graphics rendering engine used by developers on a number of Blu-ray disc based titles as well as downloadable games from the PlayStation Store.

It has been used for titles including Critter Crunch, Flower and Shatter.

To quote: "We're very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community" SCEI senior VP of technology Teiji Yutaka said.

"PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms."

PhryeEngine for the PSP and a game demo "Tunnel Vision" will be on display all week at the SCE booth at GDC.

167w ago - Straight from GDC 2010, rumor has it Sony is set to release LittleBigPlanet 2 (LBP2) for PS3 this year.

To quote from VG247.com (linked above): "Whether the LittleBigPlanet product's disc-based or a download is unknown as yet, but our source was cast iron on a 2010 ship.

Sony's holding a press conference in GDC's locality this week, but we have no idea if anything from Media Molecule's to be included.

A second game in the series would signal a major change in tack."

It was announced last week that Sony has fully bought the studio.

LittleBigPlanet is a platform game featuring a little sack character and a suite of user-used development tools. It was released in 2008.

It was confirmed in November last year that more than 1.3 million gamer-generated levels had been created for LBP, and last week that more than 2 million have been made to date.
