50°
143w ago - Sucker Punch Productions Community Manager Collin Moore has posted up a video guide today demonstrating how to create UGC graphic novel cutscenes on InFamous 2 for the PS3 console.

To quote: InFamous 2 user-generated content continues to grow at a tremendous rate: we are seeing missions that use UGC in ways we never could have imagined and the community continues to amaze us with some truly creative missions.

Second, we want to thank everyone for making inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood the fastest-selling PSN game in history!

A couple of weeks ago we released an update for inFAMOUS 2 that included the 2D Cut Scene tool that was in packaged inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood.

This update allows you to create your own comic book-inspired cut scenes for your missions, giving you tons of control over the types of stories you tell. To guide you through the creation process, we created a new video tutorial explaining the basics of the 2D Cut Scene tool – you can watch it below.

If you are new to UGC, be sure to watch all of our tutorials which will explain all the basics on creating a great UGC mission.

Sony PS3 SDK GCC Cell OS LV2 Toolchain Sources Leaked

400°
159w ago - Today JohnAaron has leaked the Sony PS3 SDK GCC Cell OS LV2 Toolchain sources on IRC, which PlayStation 3 developers can use to aid in the ongoing creation of an open-source PS3 Software Development Kit.

To quote: Previously, coders could not make their own versions of GCC with the PS3 SDK. However, that setback no longer stands in the way with the release of these files.

In addition, dev's can now port later versions of GCC to the SDK, as well as make their own toolchain. Once again, it's stressed that if you're not a developer this won't be of any use to you, but this will come in handy for developers.

[01:35] [JohnAaron] anybody into GCC?

Download: Kermit v0.4.4 BETA 1 / Embed v1.3 R1 PLUS v3

Kermit has partial DECI2 support and this feature is still being worked on. Expect more mesmerizing features to come.

All debug, disassembly, cheat-engine, memory dumping, PC communication features are achieved by the install of the resident kernel module called DBGCore which hooks/patches into the existing PS2 OS kernel. Kermit communicates with the PC through either full duplex EE-SIO (Mr.Brown's EE-SIO cable) or through iLINK (IEE 1394).
