PhyreEngine 3.5 Arrives Today for PS3, PS4, PS Vita Game Developers

75w ago - PhyreEngine Principal Engineer Richard Forster announced that PhyreEngine 3.5 officially arrives today for PS3, PS4 and PS Vita video game developers!

Below are the PhyreEngine details, to quote: We've made it easy for game developers to make their games available on PlayStation.

In addition to a great set of development tools, PlayStation developers gain access to a Software Development Kit that includes a free multi-platform game engine called [Register or Login to view links].

The latest version of this popular games development framework, PhyreEngine 3.5, is releasing to game developers and publishers worldwide right now! Today's update builds upon the PS4 support introduced in previous versions.

With PhyreEngine 3.5, PS4 developers will finally be able to leverage the platform's advanced compute functionality, in addition to a host of other development-related features.

Another convenient addition to PhyreEngine 3.5 is the ability for developers to make in-game edits on the fly and see their results immediately, without a lengthy wait for the changes to be recompiled.

PS3 Motion Controller to be at Game Developers Conference 2010

237w ago - Today SCEA's Kirk Bender of Developer Support and Research Manager David Coombes have confirmed that Sony's PS3 Motion Controller will be shown at the 2010 Game Developers Conference in a presentation on March 11th.

To quote: "The PlayStation 3 Motion Controller will be shown at the Game Developer Conference next month, it has been announced.

Titled 'Introducing the PlayStation 3 Motion Controller', the session description has confirmed the features of the devices, but does not specify what it will explicitly cover.

Recently delayed until the autumn, the controller has yet to be given an official name, release date or launch line up."

The GDC conference, based in San Francisco, will run from March 9 to March 13, 2010.
