Just one day after Rockstar Games announced that Manhunt 2 had secured an M Rating in the US, media watchdog group Campaign For a Commercial-Free Childhood has challenged the decision by the ESRB to re-rate the game, and is demanding to know why it has been allowed a lower rating than the previously Adult Only (AO) it received.

I think we'd all like to know what was cut from Manhunt 2, but only one thing's for sure. Manhunt 2. October 31st.

Streaming online radio service Deezer is like Pandora on steroids. Search for songs, create playlists, randomly stream songs or listen to the top 10 in the US and UK. Though Deezer will not have every song you search for, it does have a very large and diverse collection, so it's perfect for parties. Best of all, there is no need to register. I think I'm in love! If nothing can top your music collection, here's how you can stream your own music collection. Anyone know how to save Deezer streams locally? Share in the comments.

Personal Note: With all the legal battles going on over copyright this is a very refreshing change of pace.

IT IS FREE AND LEGAL

Using the free orb software you can stream media from your PC to your Wii PS3 or 360. It converts on the fly making it very simple to use. Older versions do better video streaming though.

Konami managed to pump out the first four Silent Hill games in five years, so what the hell is taking Silent Hill 5 so long? Discounting the critically mixed movie by Brotherhood of the Wolf director Christophe Gans (who isn't coming back for the proposed sequel), it's been a whopping four years since gamers have entered the town of Silent Hill, but that's about to change next fall with Silent Hill 5.

In the newest issue of EGM, on shelves September 4 and rolling out to subscribers now, Shane Bettenhausen goes behind-the-scenes to get the scoop on Silent Hill 5, currently in development at American studio The Collective (best known for beat 'em up Buffy the Vampire Slayer, last seen adapting the not-so-hot The Da Vinci Code), with series composer Akira Yamaoka providing the soundtrack and consulting on the game's look and feel.

Yamaoka finds the switch ironic, as Silent Hill was their attempt "at making classic American horror through a Japanese filter," where... More »

Ubisoft confirmed to GameSpot UK today that Free Radical's upcoming first-person shooter, Haze, is currently only in development for the PlayStation 3. Previously announced as a timed exclusive for the holiday season (with Xbox 360 and PC versions to follow in 2008), this confirmation makes Haze a full PlayStation 3 exclusive -- at least for the time being.

According to the report, Ubisoft has not ruled out the possibility of new partnerships in the future, but that the official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed.

Haze will ship exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on November 19th. Our hands-on impressions from the Leipzig Games Convention have the full skinny on the spiritual successor to the TimeSplitters franchise, just be sure to ignore any mentions of it being a timed exclusive.

Analysts maintain that Sony will drop the price of the 80GB PS3 to $499 once retail supply of the discontinued 60GB model depletes; an announcement could come at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.

$100 PS3 price drop still not enough? "We note that Sony recently acknowledged that it will no longer produce its 60Gb PS3, and we expect the price of the 80Gb PS3 to be reduced to $499 before the holidays," said analyst Micheal Pachter after it was revealed that Sony's internal supply of 60GB had run dry.

Analyst Jesse Divnich agrees. "To remain competitive against the other consoles, the Sony PS3 would have to reduce its 80GB SKU by $100 down to $499. Other options, besides a price drop, could be the bundling of more free software titles, which has always been a popular option during the Holiday season," he said.
