Video: Foosball 2012 Drops on PlayStation Network Today

105w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has announced that Foosball 2012 drops on PlayStation Network today and has shared the official launch trailer below.

To quote: Jakub from Grip Games here! Today is a great day for our small indie studio - Foosball 2012 is out today on PSN! I'm stopping by today to answer a few questions about the game.

Foosball 2012 is another entry in the line of not-so-typical-for-a-console-game sports, like darts, bowling, pool, or golf that we have seen recently on the PlayStation Store. If you weren't sure which platform to get the game on, we think you'll appreciate that when you buy the game for PS3, you'll get the PS Vita version for free and the other way around!

A lot of people ask us "Why foosball?" and we keep telling them "Why not?" Other games that wouldn't seem to be well-suited to a console experience managed to capture the essence of those games, and we hope to do the same with Foosball 2012.

It is not just about playing foosball, it's about playing a quick, skill-based game, that is easy to handle, but difficult to master. A game with a great multiplayer component and entertaining single-player mode, lots of customizations and Leaderboards to keep track of where you and your friends are standing against the global competition.

Video: Foosball 2012: Single-player and Multiplayer Options Demo

113w ago - Today Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has shared the third installment in the Foosball 2012 developer series, this time spotlighting single-player and multiplayer options in a video demo for PS3 and PS Vita fans below.

To quote: Over the past couple of weeks we've taken you through the controls and cross-platform features, so this time we're going to dive into the multiplayer and single-player modes.

Real-world table football is the most fun when you play it with friends, and that's something we definitely took into account when developing Foosball 2012.

Up to four players can play locally at the same time, whether that's two for each team or other combinations like 1 vs. 1 or 2 vs. AI or 2 vs. 1 and so forth. It's also possible for some of the players to play with PlayStation Move and others with DualShock 3.

Online multiplayer is also present, of course. You can play alone, or join up with a friend locally and take on the world together. Every victory nets you experience points and boosts your global ranking, so be sure to check the leaderboards to see whether your friends are above or below you.

If you do prefer single player, the game's World Tour mode lets you face off against 29 A.I....

Video: Foosball 2012 PS3 to PS Vita Cross-platform Play Demo

100°
114w ago - Following up on their previous developer diary, today Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has shared a new video spotlighting PS3-to-PS Vita Cross-platform play in upcoming title Foosball 2012.

To quote: I'm back to share more details about Foosball 2012! Specifically, to introduce the cross-platform functionalities between PS3 and PS Vita.

We didn't want to have a game that has a version for PS3 and a separate version for PS Vita. We wanted an experience where you don't need to worry about which device you are currently using, because you get exactly the same game - including your current progress, unlocks, and DLC - every time you play, regardless of whether you are currently on PS3 or PS Vita.

First of all, when you buy Foosball 2012, you'll get it for both the PS3 and PS Vita for a price of a single PSN game. The same applies for additional content that you will be able to buy. Purchase the game once and you can use it on both the PS3 and PS Vita.

Secondly, when you play the game, your saves are automatically uploaded to a cloud storage within PSN and synchronized between PS3 and PS Vita. Whenever you start the game, the progress you made on any platform,...

Video: Foosball 2012 Dev Diary: PlayStation Move Motion Controls

200°
115w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has made available some video footage today of Foosball 2012 as part of their developer diary series which spotlights the PlayStation Move motion controls below.

To quote: In March, we announced our upcoming PS3 and PS Vita game Foosball 2012.

And now we've returned to showcase a series of short developer diaries where we introduce you to some of the game's coolest features, like PlayStation Move support, full cross-platform compatibility between PS3 and PS Vita and also the online multiplayer mode.

Our first video demonstrates Foosball 2012 and PlayStation Move motion controllers in action, showing that you can play this game exactly the way you are used from a real table football ("foosball") game.

Thanks to the precision and zero lag of PlayStation Move, even the slightest movements of your hands can be properly translated into the game, allowing you to precisely control the shot power, positions of your foosmen, and so on.

One or two PS Move controllers can be used by one player, or you can ignore motion controls and play with the time-tested DualShock 3 controller, where the left stick controls the poles and movements of the ball and the right stick is used to shoot, allowing you to accurately aim and control the shot power.
