67w ago - BitComposer Games PR Manager Daniel Kraub shared a video today announcing that Air Conflicts: Vietnam takes flight on PS3 later this year.

Below are the details, to quote: I'd like to introduce you to Air Conflicts: Vietnam - the latest addition to our Air Conflicts line, due for release in the third quarter of 2013 for PlayStation 3.

Breaking away from the World War theme, our upcoming game turns to Vietnam where we feel there is huge potential for a whole new air combat experience.

Vietnam brings a new perspective and fresh impetus to the series, introducing legendary jet planes such as the F-4 Phantom and the infamous B-52, along with the thrill of supersonic dog-fighting, heat-seeking missiles, carpet bombing, and laser-guided munitions.

In addition to the new supersonic flight capability, we resurrect the iconic helicopters of the era - the immortal UH-1 Huey, the brutal AH-1 Cobra, and even the steadfast CH-47 Chinook and CH-53 Sea Stallion for transport and rescue operations.

Air Conflicts: Vietnam is unparalleled by any other flight game on the market, offering a strikingly diverse range of mission objectives, entirely new easy-to-handle control mechanics designed for supersonic aircraft and helicopters, and breathtaking visuals to immerse the...

Video: Introduction to Flight Control HD on PlayStation Network

202w ago - Firemint CEO Rob Murray has shared a few videos today covering the introduction to Flight Control HD on PlayStation Network.

To quote: We're really excited to bring you Flight Control HD on the PlayStation Network. You will be the first people able to experience Flight Control on the big screen!

If you haven't come across Flight Control on other platforms, it's a really simple but elegant game that invented a new genre, combining path mechanics and time management. It's also incredibly addictive.

3D? In Flight Control?

Believe it or not, the stereoscopic 3D mode in Flight Control HD has some real benefits. It helps to separate the important action (the planes in the air) from the landscape, which is more distant. You can play any map in 3D mode, which feels like looking into a diorama or a snow globe. You can also easily switch back to 2D to enjoy full 1080p HD resolution.

How do you control it?

Flight Control HD supports both PlayStation Move and DUALSHOCK controllers. We weren't really expecting the Move controller to work so well, but it's incredibly precise! You simply move or point the controller, hold the trigger or Move button to select a plane and then trace its path to the correct...

Video: Get Your Flight Suits Ready for Tom Clancys H.A.W.X. 2

205w ago - Today Community Developer Sorin Muresan of Ubisoft Romania has announced alongside a trailer video that Tom Clancys H.A.W.X. 2 will be hitting the PS3 entertainment system in roughly two weeks.

To quote: The video game I've been working on and enjoying lately is [Register or Login to view links], an aerial combat game that put me through a rollercoaster ride with fireworks going off all around.

From the first cinematic, I got a glimpse of the Tom Clancy storyline: I was in the middle of a world conspiracy with terrorists threatening to use stolen nukes against whoever doesn't meet their demands. So I got comfortable in my chair and ready to dispense some justice and peace with my trigger finger.

The first mission started me off easy, with a take-off from an airbase to inspect the area around. Piece of cake! Full throttle, pitch up and the sky was the limit!

But I would later find out that landing is not a piece of said cake, especially when attempting it at night on an aircraft carrier, even with the onboard computer helping me a little. And it seared a mental note into my brain: always make sure to lower the landing gear before attempting to touch down....
