1d ago - Square Enix Associate Product Manager Mat Kishimoto shared a video today announcing that Lightning Returns and revealing the Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition!
To quote: We're thrilled to announce the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition, which will be available for purchase exclusively through the Square Enix Online Store.
Instead of just throwing together a bunch of cluttered pieces of cardstock, paperweights, or stuff you won't ever look at again, we spent a lot of time coming up with some things we thought you'd really enjoy. In other words, we wanted to make this Collector's Edition just that - something you'd actually want to collect.
Collector Box: As a lifelong fan of the Final Fantasy franchise like many of you, I've always loved the aesthetics of the Japanese cover art. We don't want you to feel forced to import the Japanese copy of the game for obscene amounts of money just for the fantastic cover art, so that's how we came to the decision to choose this specific artwork for the collector box.
80 page Hardcover Art Book: This art book, simply put, is awesome. Everyone is well aware that the Final Fantasy series...

15w ago - Square-Enix Associate Director of Product Marketing Amritz Lay posted up a behind-the-scenes video today showcasing Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (Part 1) below.
To quote: In 25 years, Square Enix and the Final Fantasy development team have never had a behind-the-scenes look at how the franchise is created. Until now.
We're excited to unveil a brand new series titled "Inside the Square," which takes an in-depth look at one of the greatest RPG franchises around.
Earlier this year, we ventured out to Tokyo with an Emmy award winning camera crew to spend time with Yoshinori Kitase, Motomu Toriyama, and the entire Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII development team.
We quickly realized that each member of this incredibly talented group has a lot to say. Furthermore, the Final Fantasy franchise has such a rich history and so many moving parts, we couldn't properly showcase how these games are made in one video – so you get to witness the first of a three part series.
Our goal with this series is to show everyone a different side of the development staff, and what it's like to work at one of the most prolific video game companies in the world - Square Enix.
