Here is the European PSN update, courtesy of Mike Kebby from the SCEE PlayStation Store Team:

Howdy all, another week, another dollop of content for you all

I know it’s a tough act to follow last week’s offering, but I think we’ve done a good job of carrying on the momentum – but I leave it to you to see what you think.

Heavy Weapon joins the PSN...

For those who didn't know, Shigeru Miyamoto is a Japanese game producer and designer who has been called the "father of modern video games" and "the Walt Disney of electronic gaming" for helping create the Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Pikmin and F-Zero franchises and games such as Nintendogs and Wii Music.

Was someone expecting to see the man, Shigeru Miyamoto, in...

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots came and we played. Then our own Scottish nobleman Mark Serrels came, and we went dang man, WTF?!

Yes there is no greater Kojima fanboy than gameplayer’s Mr. Serrels who holds as his three fondest moments in life getting married, killing The End and seeing Kojima’s wang in the dunnies at a Konami press trip in late 2007 in...

The question first popped in my head probably around mid 2008. But the article that helped me answer the question was the Top Five Ways Microsoft's XBox 360 Has Beaten Sony's PS3.

To answer the question of fanboyism, first we have to look into the situation as a whole. Personally, I think the fanboy situation may be a little amusing and irritating at some points, but since it's 2009, I think it's time to give fanboyism the...

I can't count how many times I and many others have told people to not get their hopes up with PS3 firmware updates. Sony didn't 'shaft' anyone.

They haven't even hinted there was a firmware update coming out for the PlayStation 3. Loads of blogs/Web sites have reported what could come in the next firmware update - but why all the hype? Sony hasn't said if the rumored features were...

Here is a 5-round match between PSN and XBL. For each round, the contenders can get up to five points. The five rounds will be features, online play, ease of use, content, and bang for the buck.

Round 1. It's All About the Features

I think we all know which will get the higher score in this round. The PlayStation Network has improved rapidly since its debut. At first, compared to XBL, psn was...

If you ask just about any ill-informed PlayStation fanboy on any forum what Sony has in store for them in 2009, they will almost certainly reply to you with a list of games that looks a little like this:

• God of War III
• Heavy Rain
• Uncharted 2
• MAG
• inFamous
• Killzone 2
• Gran Turismo 5
• Quantum...

PS3 exclusives have a way of getting dissed by the general public and media before they are given a chance. The more superstitious fanboy might even call it a PS3 curse.

Let’s run down the list: Lair became an industry whipping boy filling up YouTube with spastics that flailed SIXAXIS controllers with reckless abandon.

Ninja Theory’s gorgeous Heavenly...

Early in this generation, those who disliked Sony and had little to no faith in the PlayStation 3, derided the company for losing third-party exclusives.

Along with complaints of an exorbitant price and a typically mediocre launch software lineup, this was one of those legitimate complaints that most avid PlayStation followers simply didn't want to acknowledge.

Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein shared a video today via PS Blog of the Street Fighter IV launch for Sony's PlayStation 3 console. To quote:

To celebrate the 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) coming of the Street Fighter legacy, Capcom threw a giant launch party a few days ago in downtown Los Angeles. Many of you attended, some were rebuffed by the LA fire marshal, but all that made it in had a...
