Famitsu Magazine Unveils Dead or Alive: Paradise for PSP

258w ago - Today a few scans (below) from the latest Famitsu Magazine have surfaced unveiling news that Dead or Alive: Paradise from Tecmo will be making its way to Sony's PSP console.

However, it's just a port of the game of the same name released for Japanese cell phones in late 2006, one which lets you play mini games with the girls, as you continue to purchase even skimpier outfits for them.

DOA Paradise is scheduled for a Spring 2010 release in Japan and is a single-player only experience.

Famitsu Reveals R-Type 3D is Coming Exclusively to PS3

265w ago - According to the latest Famitsu Magazine, R-Type 3D is coming exclusively to the PS3 console.

It appears that R-Type Final is indeed not the last in the series, according to distantmantra commenting on the latest Famitsu issue at [Register or Login to view links]: "There's something about a PS3 exclusive (?) R-Type 3D, and 3D Dot Game Heroes got 8/8/7/7."

For those unaware, R-Type is a side scrolling shoot-em-up arcade game produced by Irem. The player controls a space fighter named "Arrowhead" to defend humanity against a mysterious but powerful alien life-form known as "Bydo", which was later discovered to be not entirely alien in origin.

To quote from Examiner.com (linked above): "It is unknown whether the "3D" in title means that the game will take place in a 3D plane or whether it would be in a 2D plane with 3D graphics (a la R-Type Delta)."

PS3 RPG Ar Tonelico 3 Revealed in Latest Famitsu Magazine

267w ago - The latest issue of Famitsu Magazine has revealed that Ar Tonelico 3 will exclusively be hitting the PS3 on January 28, 2010 and Hokuto no Ken Musou will also arrive next year.

According to PSU (linked above), there will be an Ar Tonelico event at the Akihabara Enta Festival on the 25th if you're in Japan and want to go.

To quote from rykomatsu's article translation:

The Ar Tonelico series takes place on the planet of Ar Ciel. Due to a prior catastrophy, humanity is forced to take refuge on one of 3 towers, called Ar Tonelico, located around the planet.

•Ar Tonelico I takes place on Sol Ciel
•Ar Tonelico II takes place on Meta Falas
•Ar Tonelico III takes place on Sol Clusta

Sol Clusta is dominated by Reyvateils which are the ruling class. The ideal world to them consists only of Reyvateils and purified humans (ie. slaves)

Saki - Heroine (CV: Gotou Mai)
Reyvateil who was created in a laboratory for a plan that would have far reaching effects on the world (unclear if it's limited to Sol Clusta or the planet of Ar Ciel). PS3 Exclusive Nier RepliCant Screens, Details & Famitsu Scans

270w ago - Square Enix released some fresh screenshots (below) and new details on Nier RepliCant today- a PS3 exclusive slated for release in 2010 alongside it's counterpart Nier Gestalt for Xbox 360.

Additionally, some Nier RepliCant Famitsu Magazine scans are available courtesy of [Register or Login to view links].

To quote: "The story is similar to that of Gestalt, but the main character will have to save his little sister affected by an incurable illness named "Black Sentence Plague".

As he will progress in his quest he will find out more about the nature of the world and about the reasons why the demons inhabiting it have began to succumb to madness.

Both Nier Gestalt and Nier RepliCant will be released in 2010, developed by studio Cavia (Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, Bullet Witch, Drakengard, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex...) and both will be officially shown at Tokyo Game show, respectively at Microsoft's and Sony's booths.

As a final juicy detail, on September the 18th the first trailer for Nier RepliCant will be aired...
 

Famitsu Magazine Reveals New From Software PS3 Game

275w ago - Today the Examiner (linked above) is reporting that the latest issue of Famitsu Magazine has revealed a new PS3 video game by developer From Software... namely, 3D Dot Game Heroes.

A picture from the magazine article is below, and currently it's believed to be the the 'mystery title' on the From Software Japanese [Register or Login to view links].

To quote: "The new issue of Famitsu revealed the latest PlayStation 3 game developed by From Software. 3D Dot Game Heroes has a unique visual style in which 2D sprites become 3D.

It looks like it could be the mystery title on the From Software Web site.

Previously, From Software developed the cult hit Demon's Souls for the PlayStation 3, which will come out in North America on October 6."
