Beat Killzone Shadow Fall's Lead PS4 Designer at His Own Game

50°
27w ago - Killzone Community Editor Victor Zuylen invites PS4 fans to beat Killzone Shadow Fall's Lead Designer at his own PlayStation 4 game!

To quote: The interactive event known as First To Greatness, which celebrates the many different gaming firsts to be had across the PS4 launch lineup, is drawing to a close.

Only a single challenge of the 64 remains open, and today we're going to reveal how you can complete it to become part of PlayStation 4 history.

The "Ending Ebolt" challenge requires you to take out Killzone Shadow Fall lead designer Eric Boltjes (a.k.a. Ebolt) in an online multiplayer match.

To prove that you've truly ended him, you must upload video evidence of your actions to your Facebook account using the DualShock 4 Share button, and submit the footage to [Register or Login to view links] by signing in with Facebook.

Finding and eliminating Ebolt has been no easy feat, but we can make it slightly easier by revealing when and where he'll be online: a little OWL has told us that Eric will be playing Classic Warzone on Friday, January 17th at 9:00 PM PT.

So be on the lookout - you might just go down in PlayStation history as the first player to beat Killzone Shadow Fall's lead designer at his own...

Video: Cancelled PS3 Exclusive FPS 'Redwood Falls' Footage

50°
283w ago - Redwood Falls was a zombie shooter first announced way back in 2006, exclusive to Sony's PS3 console.

Late last year, the title was put on indefinite hold by developer Kuju Entertainment, citing a lack of funds to continue the project.

Redwood Falls separated itself with it's gruesome damage system, allowing players to shoot or cut off pieces of flesh to get to the zombies vital organs.

The video shown was from early in development, when the title was still set to be multiplatform. It sets the mood of the game, going from a creepy forest to a desolate pier.

Things heat up, showing some of the game's combat mechanics against some sort of massive creature. Redwood Falls definitely seems to have been influenced by John Carpenter's The Thing, both in terms of the isolated atmosphere and the appearance of the creatures.

In any case, Redwood Falls looks really impressive, and it makes you wonder how games like this get canned while games like Shell Shock 2 make it all the way to the market.

Halo Wars for XBox 360 Falls Victim to Metacritic Wars

250°
285w ago - The latest victim in the fanboys "Metacritic war" is Halo Wars, possibly one of the biggest causalities of the user ratings fanboy wars on Metacritic.

As of February 7th, the metacritic user score currently stands at 0.8/10 with 115 votes.

We also noticed Official Xbox Magazine has a review up, they gave it a 9/10, we're pretty positive a majority of those who gave it such a low user score haven't even played the demo let alone the final game.

We're not sure what console these fanboys came from, and frankly we don't care, it's obvious these scores will impact the buying decisions of a small group, why bother sabotaging what is shaping up to be a great game from a proven studio?
