Sony Announces Hohokum: Enter the Fun Fair Coming to PlayStation

50°
26w ago - Sony Co-creator Richard Hogg announced today that Hohokum: Enter the Fun Fair is coming to PlayStation platforms with details below.

To quote: At last, we can reveal the Fun Fair to the world! It's the level we've worked on the longest, and its roots can be traced all the way back to the first prototype of the game we showed back in 2011.

Back then, it was a no-fun fair. It was a place of danger, a beautiful and colorful city, but one that was under attack from a mysterious enemy. Bombs rained down on the town and its peaceful citizens. Your job was to collect these hapless denizens and ferry them to an awaiting boat.

Three years have passed and the city is no longer under threat; it has been rebuilt and expanded. The original citizens are back and enjoying more peaceful times... but not quite, as the Fun Fair has come to town!

This is one of the most frantic and hectic places that you will visit. You will be FLUNG at high velocity into dizzying, concentric trajectories by the SPIROGRABBERS!

You will be SCARED BEYOND WITLESS by the terrifying and not at all cute GHOSTLY TRAIN! You will be THOROUGHLY FERRISED by the magnificent FERRIS WHEEL.

...and if you like sushi, prize vegetables, juvenile birds, mythical reptiles, headless horses, and multi-limbed...

212w ago - The Electronic Frontier Foundation recently won a DMCA ruling that, under most 'fair use' circumstances, no longer makes it illegal to hack and jailbreak devices including video games and portable phones including Apple's iPhone.

Essentially consumers shouldn't need Apple's approval for everything you put in your device just because the device itself was made by Apple, much like you don't need HP's approval for the paper you put in their printer or Serta's approval for who can sleep on your mattress.

"In addition to jailbreaking, other exemptions announced Monday would:

• allow owners of used cell phones to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers.
• allow people to break technical protections on video games to investigate or correct security flaws.
• allow college professors, film students and documentary filmmakers to break copy-protection measures on DVDs so they can embed clips for educational purposes, criticism, commentary...

Paul McCartney: Pirate Bay Verdict Was Fair

200°
278w ago - The Beatles legend Paul McCartney has labeled the Pirate Bay's verdict of guilty as 'fair'.

McCartney noted that if you get on a bus, then you have to pay for your ticket. He went on to discuss how new and emerging artists need money from song sales to pay for their mortgages and support their family.

To quote: Sir Paul McCartney, speaking before headlining US festival Coachella, said: "Anyone who does something good, particularly if you get really lucky and do a great artistic thing and have a mega hit, I think you should get rewarded for that.

"I'm in favor of that sort of thing."

He added: "The problem is you get a lot of young bands coming up and some of them aren't going to last forever so if they have a massive hit that's going to pay their mortgage forever.

"They're going to feed the children on that and if they don't get that money, if they don't see that money, I think it's a bit of a pity.

"I've been very lucky because my main era with the Beatles was at a time when everyone did get paid.

"Particularly for young bands and they've got a young family, I don't want to see them destitute after a couple of years when...
