Mass Effect 3: Leviathan PS3 DLC Expands Reaper Mythology

100°
125w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman has confirmed that the Mass Effect 3: Leviathan PS3 DLC expansion Reaper Mythology is incoming this summer.

To quote: "Shepard's story came to a close at the end of the game," BioWare Producer Mike Gamble told the crowd at EA's Summer Showcase last week.

"But there are more stories we want to tell in the Mass Effect universe." Leviathan is Mass Effect 3's first story-focused DLC, and in addition to introducing new characters, weapons, and combat challenges it promises to expand on what we know (and what we don't) about the most feared beings in the universe - the Reapers.

Set during ME3's harrowing Reaper invasion, the expansion tasks Commander Shepard with tracking down an elusive entity that, according to legend, may wield the power to defeat a Reaper.

Trouble is, nobody's actually seen it. The story begins with an email directing you to the Citadel labs and one Dr. Bryson, director of the elite Task Force Aurora research group that investigates long-shot methods for halting the Reapers.

The Protheans, it seems, were the first to suspect the Leviathan's existence after they discovered a Reaper corpse centuries ago. This all bodes well for Shepard's quest, but just as Bryson begins to pass along the key information,...

200°
172w ago - Today Housemarque Game Designer Petteri Putkonen has announced that Dead Nation is expanding on the PS3 console with the introduction of the Road of Devastation PlayStation 3 DLC!

To quote: We hereby announce exciting news for Dead Nation players around the globe! We've been hard at work creating a new downloadable expansion called "Road of Devastation"!

Before we say more, we'll take this moment to acknowledge an epic milestone in the number of zombies killed worldwide: over 11,700,000,000 - and counting!

To put that number in perspective, that's more than 1.5 times the entire world's population of today (though the game takes place in the near future where Earth's population has grown much bigger...so don't worry, there's still plenty of zombies left).

Also, our worldwide recruit count has risen to over 3.8 million! We wish to humbly thank all the people who have supported the game.

Now, onto Road of Devastation:

From the ashes of the apocalypse, an organization has worked in the shadows, tampering with the human gene, modifying and improving upon it to create the perfect soldier, the ultimate zombie-killing machine - you! Continuing from the events where the original game left off (or, is it actually the other way around...,...

Sony Expands PlayStation Licensing Program for Non-Game Items

100°
230w ago - Last year Sony first announced the official licensing program for PlayStation peripherals, and today they have expanded the program to non-game items.

Essentially the company is granting rights to use the PlayStation logo and symbolic triangle, circle, x and square marks on t-shirts, accessories and other items.

The packaging for such items will show the same "Official Licensed Product" logo that's applied to licensed gaming gear.

To quote from Next-gen.biz (linked above): "Approved licensees can design products using the PS3, PSP, PSPgo, PS2 and PlayStation logos, as well as the iconic triangle, circle, x and square marks. They can also use the Official Licensed Product logo on product packaging and other promotional tools.

To date the licensing program has allowed manufacturers to use PlayStation logos on game peripherals and accessories developed for use with Sony's gaming systems. Launched in 2009, 45 licensees have released over 123 items."
