177w ago - SCEE's European Product Manager Liam Quigley has posted a ModNation Racers PS3 Beta update today on the European PlayStation Blog, as follows:
So it's been a busy week for me on ModNation. After only 7 hours of the Beta being live in the PSN store the 100,000 slots where filled.
Those lucky enough to get involved have been enjoying yourselves creating some awesome creations.
We've seen plenty of awesome Mods (including some familiar faces) and an array of mixed up kooky Karts and the most twisted tracks!
So far we have had over 5,500 new creations uploaded to the share station each day. (Mods, karts and race tracks combined). That's pretty amazing!
Now I'm sure you have plenty more creations you haven't shared yet beta testers! So come on; show me what you can do..
Don't forget you can also Race against others online... So far we've seen over 100,000 races entered. If you think you have what it takes to get on the top spot then enter the Race Station (left hand side of the ModSpot) and start challenge others to an action race, time trail or a good old fashioned first past the wining post.
And finally the official forums for your feedback on the Beta is LIVE go and post your thoughts on the beta and get thinking about...
178w ago - SCEE ModNation Racers Technical Director James Grieve has announced that the ModNation Racers PS3 European Beta release is tomorrow.
To quote: My name is James Grieve and I am the Technical Director on ModNation Racers here at United Front Games in Vancouver, Canada. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you in preparation for the unleashing of the ModNation Racers European Public Beta.
As a lot of you may have heard, the response to the North American beta has been amazing.
With tens of thousands of creations published and almost 100,000 online races run, the team here has been amazed at how people have taken to the game. The creativity of players' creations just blew us away... there was stuff in there even we had never thought of doing
We have also received a ton of useful feedback from players, and likewise we hope to hear from all of you. The team is hard at work finishing the game now, and a lot of that feedback is being listened to and addressed. One of the key focuses of the beta has been online stability and load testing.
The data we have gathered has been very useful in this regard and the...
179w ago - SCEE's European Product Manager Liam Quigley has announced today that the ModNation Racers PS3 European Beta is incoming, as follows:
As promised last year I can now finally reveal the dates of the ModNation European Beta.
On the 22nd of January 100,000 of you lucky folks will be able to get your hands on this amazing Beta test.
Jump, boost and drift your way around tricky racetracks, picking up weapons with every twist and turn in a battle to the finish line, then have a go at creating your own courses and challenge the world to race on them.
So how do you get hold of a place in the Beta?
Well just simply be one of the first to log on to the PSN store on Thursday 21st and download the Beta. Once Downloaded the fun will start when the lights turn green on Friday 22nd of January.
Is it free?
Well... Ermmm... Hmmmm... How do I break this to you? YES!
What happens if I'm the 100,001 person to get to the PSN store and try to download the Beta?
Sadly the tracks will be full of racers and you will be out of luck. The Beta will disappear in to PSN Store history vault.
What's in the beta?
If you're one of the lucky testers, you'll be given the opportunity...
247w ago - A short while ago, Euro gaming Web site Eurogamer announced that they were offering 5800 keys for the LittleBigPlanet European BETA, and then they quickly disappeared under a raging tide of sack boy-hungry Europeans.
The sheer numbers have brought the Web site to its knees - with users trying to get there simply to get the link to entry page for the story and have had no luck whatsoever, and with the key offer requiring Eurogamer registration, both the front and and back end are getting completely slammed, bringing to mind a mental picture that I will quickly put out of my head.
Needless to say, all of the LittleBigPlanet keys are now gone, with this note: Sorry for all those who had trouble connecting during the stampede, and apologies to those who missed out.
