190w ago - Yesterday Sony Ericsson officially confirmed Xperia Play, which is arriving on February 13, in a Super Bowl commercial ad video which can be seen below.

To quote from Engadget: Sony Ericsson has finally stopped teasing, winking, and nodding knowingly and has just come clean - the Xperia Play is most definitely real and it'll be one of the first devices announced at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

We're treated to a date and time, February 13th at 6PM GMT, a pair of full frontal shots of the Gingerbread-running, gamepad-wearing smartphone, and the full version of that creepy ad we saw for it a couple of days back.

Those interested can check out the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 'Android is Ready to Play' video below!

Just over a month back we saw the first pictures of the Sony Ericsson Z1 PSP PlayStation phone, and today TechBlog.gr (linked above) has revealed what appears to be the first leaked video of it in action.

To quote, roughly translated: Fell to my Sony Ericsson Z1 (menu Settings - About Phone, listed as Zeus).

Its shape resembles the Vivaz, well rounded corners and four buttons hard keys at the bottom of the screen 4 inches. The device I saw was wearing a version Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Very good sense of the touch screen, very good multi-touch and a general and uniform sykgrotimeno result, despite being a prototype. I saw a demo of Qualcomm with animated graphics that play excellent mobile phone!

It seemed to shoot some tanks while we were returning the camera around them by close-ups to make. Sony is preparing its own Application Store with Games for...

212w ago - The day just wouldn't be complete without some more PSFreedom ports, which now support the HTC Evo, Hero and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 devices.

Downloads: PSFreedom HTC Evo / PSFreedom Hero (CDMA) / PSFreedom Hero (GSM) / PSFreedom Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

To quote from PSGroove: The HTC Hero now is able to perform the jailbreak on all PS3 models.

With great thanks to alephzain the hero now works. Below is the update.zip for gsm Hero with psfreedom, best way for now is nandroid backup, flash the update, apply hack on PS3 and nandroid restore to return to existing rom.

1. Copy .zip onto sdcard
2. Reboot phone into recovery (I use Clockwork but Amon-Ra is just as good, and may endup better ;p)
3. Perform a nandroid backup
4. Install zip from sdcard and select zip downloaded from above.
5. Perform hack on PS3
6. Reboot to recovery and restore nandroid backup
7. Goto 1 each time you switch on PS3 until a better method is developed

Sony Ericsson to Introduce an Android 3.0 Gaming Smartphone?

300°
216w ago - Previously Sony refused PlayStation branding on a Sony Ericsson PSP Phone and dismissed such claims of a device as speculation, however, according to [Register or Login to view links] Sony Ericsson is slated to introduce an Android 3.0 gaming platform and PSPgo-like smartphone.

This possible change of heart may be due in part to Sony's recent PlayStation Licensing Program expansion.

According to a 'trusted source' of Engadget, Sony Ericsson will introduce a cross between the PSP Go and an Android phone later this year.

To quote: "The handset is supposed to be a "landscape slider," but instead of a QWERTY keyboard like a mobile phone or regular game controls like the PSP, it will have PlayStation buttons, a d-pad and a "long touch pad" to mimic dual analog input.

Sony Ericsson's device will run Android 3.0, and games will be made available through...
