John Smedley, President of Sony Online Entertainment, confirmed the news during yesterday’s SOE Live. Along with this announcement, they also held a Survival Challenge for attendees, showing off over an hour of fresh gameplay footage."

For those unaware: The game is a zombie apocalypse thriller set in the United States, in which players will have to interact with resources in the world to survive, build shelters and craft weapons.

It will be free-to-play through micropayments, though as of April 2014, the way the game will be monetized has not been clearly defined; a public discussion regarding the matter has been initiated by SOE's president on Reddit, alongside another regarding the inclusion of custom servers.

Gameplay emphasizes multi-player cooperation, trading, and team-building. In an interview with Adam Clegg from SOE it was made clear that unlike other zombie MMO games, the main focus will be on surviving...

9w ago - Escape Hatch Entertainment President Garry M Gaber announced today that a major update is coming to Starlight Inception on PS Vita.

To quote: In this blog, we wanted to focus on the major update (live now) that we completed for [Register or Login to view links], one of the only first-person / third-person space combat experiences on PS Vita.

This was our first title on Vita, and as a small indie developer with limited resources both for development and testing, a lot of folks thought we weren't in the game for the long haul.

Hopefully this update dispels those notions. We're committed to this product and have been working hard since its release in late April to address issues in the game, add more features, and generally polish the product. We also have plans for future updates, both to address any issues that arise from this update, as well as to expand the game and its feature set.

You can find the full release notes [Register or Login to view links]. As you can see, the list is rather extensive; we'll just focus on a select few of these in this blog entry. We'll also be posting more videos to our [Register or Login to view links]

Action Button Announces Tuffy the Corgi Out on PlayStation Mobile

50°
12w ago - Action Button Entertainment Founder and Director Tim Rogers announced that Tuffy the Corgi is out now on PlayStation Mobile.

To quote: When I was ten years old and my parents weren't paying me to mow the lawn yet, my grandmother wrote me a birthday check for fifty dollars instead of five dollars.

The most remarkable part is maybe that she wrote "fifty" on the check: "F-I-F-T-Y." My mom wanted me to give it back. My dad persuaded my mom to let me keep the money.

I used that fifty dollars to buy Super Mario Bros. 3.

I have played Super Mario Bros. 3 every year on my birthday after that. I have a long standing custom where I play every level in the game, from start to finish - no warping, and (hopefully) no dying.

I'm an "adult" now, so I invite friends over to play the game with me. On my twenty-fifth birthday, I managed to get all the way through every level in the entire game without taking a single hit. I'm proud of that. I then said to myself, "I'd sure like to make a game like this someday."

Well, June 7th was my thirty-fifth birthday. It's been ten years since I finished my perfect game of Super Mario Bros. 3, and I still haven't ever worked on a game like it.
