16w ago - Sony Community Manager Ramone Russell at San Diego Studios has shared a video today spotlighting the hitting enhancements in MLB '13 The Show for PS3 today.
To quote: Hitting is such an important aspect in baseball, and it's an area we continually strive to make as realistic as possible. Last year we introduced our True Ball Physics engine to the franchise for ultra-realistic ball physics.
This year we've done even more work to really make this area of the game as dynamic as possible with true to life outcomes. Take a look at what we've done to make hitting in MLB '13 The Show more accessible to everyone.
We really want to make hitting more streamlined for players. Beginner mode allows people who have never played The Show - or have struggled with it - to learn the fundamentals of hitting. It's meant to teach you the basics of Plate Discipline, Pitch Recognition and Timing.
This mode uses adaptive A.I. that only advances as you do. If you take longer to get the hang of hitting in The Show, you won't be forced to advance. The A.I. will only advance once you've passed a certain threshold at each level.
In regards to the Push/Pull hitting Trajectories Engine, MLB.com...
134w ago - LucasArts Producer Brett Rector has confirmed that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II hits PS3 Tuesday and detailed some of the video game's enhancements today.
To quote: One of the most exciting days for a video-game developer is release day, and for those of us who worked on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, October 26th, 2010 is our day.
It's one we've been building up to since the release of the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed back in 2008. Starkiller has returned as the game's protagonist, and he's more bad-ass than ever.
But is he really Starkiller? If you played the first game then you know he sacrificed himself to save key members of the Rebellion he helped start. So how is it possible that Starkiller is alive?
Not one to stay idle, Darth Vader has been doing some tinkering in a secret laboratory on Kamino, the cloning planet from Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones. I think you can see where I'm going with this.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is all about a personal journey, one where you attempt to unravel the mystery behind whether Starkiller's a clone or not. The first game was all about redemption; the second is about identity and searching for the truth....
169w ago - Major League Baseball 10: The Show Designer Aaron Luke has detailed 'Road to the Show' PS3 enhancements today on the PlayStation Blog, as follows:
Aaron Luke here to bring you the next chapter in our series of MLB 10: The Show posts. This installment will focus on the enhancements we've made to "Road To The Show" (RTTS). We've targeted several aspects of the mode for improvements, and think you'll like what you find in this year's edition of RTTS.
We'll begin by discussing player creation. This year's PS3 Create Player system has received some new accessory additions, giving you even more options to customize. You can now select a variety of color settings to nearly every part of your player's gear.
Among many other options, you can customize three areas of your glove with different colors, set both the barrel and handle colors of your bat, and customize your shoe colors. We've also added a field to the General tab that will allow you to determine whether or not your player was born in the U.S. This will determine which roster you would appear on if your player were to be selected for the All-Star Futures Game.
After finishing up your player's look and deciding whether to enter...

225w ago - This MLB 09 The Show update comes courtesy of Designer Aaron Luke via PS Blog today:
Starting with the front-end aspects, the PS3 Create Player system has received some new additions that will allow you to customize even more aspects of your player.
With the new Sounds Of The Show feature, we've been able to support audio customizations that will allow you to pick not only your batter walkup music, but also your reliever entry music and a home run celebration song. In addition to editing custom music, you can also create custom fan chants, cheers, and jeers to assign to your player (or any other player using the Edit Player feature).
The player accessories have also seen upgrades to support a variety of new items including: wrist tape, batting gloves in pockets, glasses, eye black, baggy pants, and stirrup socks for your old schoolers. But the player customization doesn't end with the Create Player process -- we've also added in the ability to edit your player any time after creation. You won't be able to edit his position or attributes, but you will have full reign on editing his appearance, accessories, and the all-important player number.
Once you've settled on your player's look, you now have a choice - enter the draft and let your fate be decided by...
