237w ago - In addition to the recent new protection being implemented on Nintendo DS games, now both eBay and Amazon have officially banned the sales of DS R4 flash carts.
As expected, Nintendo is pleased about this and has issued a brief comment as follows:
Nintendo is pleased with the co-operation it has received from both eBay and Amazon to prevent the sales of game copying devices," Nintendo of America's global head of anti-piracy Jodie Daughtery told MCV this week.
"Nintendo has been aggressive in curtailing the sales of these devices on a global scale, from manufacturers in Asia to Internet webshops and retail operations across Europe and the UK.
"Since January 2008, Nintendo has coordinated over 560 actions and confiscated approximately 411,000 game copiers. In the UK, Nintendo collaborates with ELSPA and takes independent actions. Over 225,000 devices have been seized by authorities in 170 actions since 2008."
An eBay spokesperson added: "eBay prohibits sellers from listing any hardware or software that allows people to make unauthorised copies of copyrighted games, including the R4 DS cards, and we are taking steps to remove the few listings found...
255w ago - Today gourangaman656 let us know of a PlayStation 3 Development Kit DECR-1000 A (TOOL) that has hit eBay HERE!
The seller is haly20, and at the time of this writing the current bid is only US $1,125.00.
Needless to say, if the auction doesn't get pulled over the next 10 days the price is likely to exceed $10,000.00 but still quite interesting as they are extremely rare to find!
What is so good about a PS3 TOOL over a PS3 Debug/Test console? Among other things, this unit can dump/debug the PS3 Hypervisor and Kernel... meaning PS3 Devs and hackers would LOVE to get their hands on one!
To quote: This auction is for a PlayStation 3 Development Kit, MSRP $10,250. It has been opened for photographing and that is all. BRAND NEW IN BOX. The console is sold as-is, with all accessories and manuals in English.
The system appears to have two slots for HDD's with HDD's already inserted, along with a Blu-ray slot. All photos are original and if the part you are looking for is not in the description, it is not included.
I will ship in the box that it came in. This thing is incredibly heavy shipping is as you see on the calculator. If you have any questions, feel free to...

293w ago - The online auction giant eBay is suing the popular internet community ad site Craigslist to "safeguard its four-year financial investment".
In a statement, eBay claimed that in January, Craigslist executives took actions that "unfairly diluted eBay's economic interest by more than 10%". No details of those actions were given by eBay.
In its company blog, Craigslist said it was surprised and disappointed by eBay's "unfounded allegations". The company said eBay's legal action "came to us out of the blue".
The case, which is sealed, has been filed in a court in Delaware, where Craigslist is registered. In a press statement, eBay claims that Craigslist's founder Craig Newmark and its chief executive Jim Buckmaster adopted unspecified measures in January that have disadvantaged eBay and its investment.
Preserve our investment
EBay's general counsel Mike Jacobson said: "Since negotiating our investment with Craigslist's board in 2004, we have acted openly and in good faith as a minority shareholder, so we were surprised by these recent unilateral actions.
He continues: "We are asking the Delaware court to rescind these recent actions in order to protect eBay's stockholders and preserve our investment."
314w ago - Everyone is familiar with inflated Wii pricing on eBay due to high demand, and can only imagine what this blinged-out Wii (covered in 7,500 24-carat gold dipped Swarovski crystals) would fetch.
While this Wii doesn't appear to be for sale (least, not yet), the same designer is currently offering a similar crystal covered Nintendo DS for $350.
